Widening the Sphere of Success Our work is about widening the sphere of success by Beginning with the engineering equitable learning conditions for all 2020-21 school year, students. New Early Childhood Education Legislation Building Continuity Across The Early Learning Continuum Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, the district is authorized to comingle and enroll four year old students, at selected elementary sites, within the TK classrooms to include, but not limited to, students who previously attended Pre-K for All preschool classrooms.

The Early Learning Continuum ○ Families whose children begin as 3 year olds would have access up to 3 years of high quality programs on an early learning continuum before entering kindergarten. ○ Parents in our school communities may enroll their children in a free, full day educational program taught by a fully credentialed teacher, with additional experience in early childhood education, aligned to the school’s schedule and calendar. ○ Expert early learning staff will be assigned to these schools to support instructional learning, continuous improvement, and collaborative partnerships to impact positive student outcomes.

Training & Professional Development Preschool & TK Classroom Staff ○ Paid summer professional development opportunities for teachers and paraeducators focused on co-teaching models and teaming. ○ Throughout the school year, ongoing professional development during minimum days at school sites and monthly release days for part day blended classrooms. ○ Continuous principal coaching for early learning instructional strategies and compliance items. ○ Compliance training for credentialed TK teachers per Education Code 48000(g).
