Course of Study in "Sport sciences, practice and management of sporting activities" - [L22]. a.y. 2021/2022 SUBJECT: Glottology and Linguistics SDS: L-LIN/01; ECT: 12 Year III - Semester I Lecturer: Prof. Caterina Ferrini Tutor: Dr. Federica Brachini Qualification and scientific Caterina Ferrini is a researcher in Glottology and Linguistics at the IUL background of the lecturer Telematic University. She holds a PhD in Historical Linguistics, Educational Linguistics and Italianistics. Italian, other languages and cultures, XXX Cycle at the University for Foreigners of Siena. Her scientific activity concerns the areas of language sciences with particular attention to the linguistic component of Italian migrations in the world, the language of hate on social networks and the language of wine. Description of contents and Course title: Communicating sport. Languages for reporting, promotion subdivision of the programme and information into teaching modules Presentation The social activity of doing sport, both in the competitive and amateur spheres, is rooted in strategies of interaction and the construction of social networks of solidarity. The fabric of complex communication mechanisms that sees athletes, coaches, promoters and managers of sport communicating with those who use it, represents an important meeting ground, in which the graduate in Sport Sciences must know how to use appropriate and effective tools, to facilitate all forms of communication and exchange. The course aims at training the graduate's linguistic and paralinguistic communication skills, both written and oral, in order to facilitate agile communication focused on sport. widespread condition of much of competitive and non-competitive sport. The course hosts a series of video lessons recorded by Prof. Barbara Turchetta, Professor of Glottology and Linguistics at the University of Bergamo. The course is divided into 4 modules. Module 1- Rhetoric and stylistics of sport journalistic text Video lessons by Prof. Turchetta: 1a. Elements of textual linguistics; 2a. Elements of text and speech rhetoric. Module 2- Sectorial lexicons and sport technicalities Video lessons by Prof. Turchetta: 3a. Principles of lexicology; 4a. Technical varieties of Italian. Module 3 - Manuals and texts for the promotion of amateur sport Video lessons by Prof. Turchetta: 5a. Stylistic features of a popular text; 6a. Construction of a sport promotion text. Knowledge and understanding To acquire awareness of the dynamics of sport communication in a multicultural society. To acquire basic knowledge of the organisation and management of texts. B. Applied knowledge and understanding To develop the ability to analyse and create texts for promotional and informative purposes. Fostering public communication management skills. To know the languages and tools of iconographic and linguistic communication. C. Autonomy of judgement To increase the critical capacity to reflect on public communication contexts. D. Communication skills To enrich the student's argumentative skills, for a correct definition and description of the dynamics of competitive and amateur sport. E. Learning ability To lead to the analysis of sport communication, through documentation actions and analysis of real contexts. Skills to be acquired EXPECTED RESULTS A. Ability to analyse public communication contexts and situations in sport promotion. B. Ability to design and implement measures to increase the uptake of sport practices. C. Ability to generate and disseminate effective information on recreational and sporting practices, with particular regard to their values and social utility. In itinere assessment methods ⮚ Access to the final examination is subject to the completion of the e-activities and participation in the activities. Procedure for the final The assessment of learning will take place through an oral interview, in examination presence, on the contents of the course, discussing at least three of the relevant disciplinary topics.
