Jim Sichko Preacher, Evangelist, Motivational Speaker, and Missionary of Mercy! Since 1982, the U. S. Department of Education's National Blue Ribbon School's Pro- gram has honored America's most successful public and non- public elementary, middle, and high schools. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools whose students achieve at very high levels in all areas of learning. On September 21, 2021, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona recognized St. Robert Bellarmine School as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2021. St. Robert Bel- larmine School was one of the twenty-three private schools and 302 public schools to receive this award. St. Robert Bellarmine School was also the only private school in Ne- braska to receive the 2021 award. To qualify to apply, our school presented documentation that our students’ standardized test scores were in the top 15 percent of schools nationwide for all grade levels tested in the areas of reading and math. As a previous recipient of the 2015 National Blue Ribbon Award, St. Robert Bellarmine School needed to exhibit exemplary standards and outcomes in students’ learning, while offering an inclusive and diverse learning atmosphere. This honor recognizes the inspiring example of teachers, staff, administrators, parents and families, and commu- nity leaders working together through challenging circumstances to prepare our students to succeed in school. It also shows the unwavering commitment to each child and innovations in teaching and learning that allows each student to reach their full potential. As a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School, we will continue to set high expectations and collaborate to meet all needs of students- academic, social-emotional, and spiritual. We are grateful to be blessed with dedicated, pas- sionate, and faith-filled educators and support staff who assisted in achieving this level of excellence. In November, Fr. Dave Reeson and St. Robert Bellarmine princi- pal, Mrs. Jacqueline Reinhart, will attend the National Blue Rib- bon ceremony to accept the award on behalf of St. Robert Bellar- mine School.
