2021 Term 2 Road Patrollers – Thank You for the Important Job You Do! Thank you to all these students who have volunteered their time to help keep all our St Brigid's School tamariki safe when coming and leaving school. We ask that parents help their child by ensuring that everyone uses the designated crossing areas as this will send a positive road safety message. We also thank all the parents and teachers who give up their time to stand out on the road to support our road patrollers in rain, hail and shine! Road Patrol Parent Helpers Needed The roads around school just keep getting busier and we really want to keep our students safe as they arrive and leave school each day. Our student road patrollers do a fantastic job and give their time willingly, but they have to be supervised by an adult while on road patrol duty. We operate 2 road patrols each morning from 8:40-9:00am (Phillip Street and Frankmoore Ave) and 3 in the afternoon from 2:55-3:15pm (Phillip St, Frankmoore Ave and Dr Taylor Tce). Can you help? We would love to hear from any parents who are able to volunteer 20 minutes for one morning or afternoon each week for the rest of the term to go on a roster to help with road patrol supervision. If you can help, we would very much appreciate it. Please email Amanda Prowse on amanda@stbrigids.school.nz if you would like to find out more or are able to help us out. Thanks heaps! Senior Kapa Haka 2021 Year 5-8 students who are interested in doing Kapa Haka this year are asked to register their interest with Mrs Fransen. New and past students are welcome to join us. We started in Week 1 of Term 2 on Thursdays 8.30am-9.30am in the school library. We are very fortunate to have Nanaia returning to tutor our group. Parents/caregivers are asked to please email fiona@stbrigids.school.nz indicating their child's interest in joining. Learning together with strength of character and gentleness of heart
Year 5-8 Netball - A message from Northern Suburbs Netball Due to the high level of uncertainty around the Newlands College courts being available this coming weekend, the NSN executive committee has made the decision to put a new draw in place for Saturday 15 May. This will allow our season to kick off without any further delays. The new draw will be released on Tuesday to give teams the chance to organise themselves given that the draw looks quite different to usual. A couple of things to note: 1. All games are being played at Newlands Intermediate, starting at 8:30am with the last round finishing around 3:45pm 2. Games have been shortened by 10 minutes to fit all games on one day. Primary games will consist of 4x6 minute quarters, and Intermediate games of 4x8 minute quarters. We appreciate your understanding with the changing circumstances. Our draw committee has been working hard over the weekend (and Mother’s Day) to get something in place that will allow our young netballers to play on Saturday.
