 Parent Interviews
Mr Fulton and I were so impressed with the outstanding participation from parents, at
the Parent Interviews. The support and enthusiasm from families is outstanding and
we feel we made great progress towards working together to set individual goals with
 each student.
We will be re-visiting these goals throughout the year to ensure students are on target
and working towards achieving their goals.

 Year 7 Leadership Course
The student’s feedback from the leadership course was awesome. They loved learn-
ing in a different setting, they enjoyed the challenge of deciding where their strengths
were, and they found it interesting to discuss ‘virtues’ and the ones they most value.
This course will hopefully be followed up next year when they are in year 8.

                 Onewhero Sports Exchange
Our sports exchange with Onewhero Area School will be upon us very soon.
Crucial to the success of this sports exchange is the organising of billets for the
one night. Without families from our school willing to take billets this event
 would not be possible.

This annual event offers our students a chance to reciprocate hospitality and build
 relationships with students from Onewhero.

Please let Mrs Scorringe know (865 8557) if you are able to assist us with this
 event.

Year 11-12 Surf Camp
                                   The Search for Small Waves
It’s not often, as a surfer, that you find yourself
searching for small enough waves to ride on the
east coast. This, however was the case during
Outdoor Educations year 11-12 surf camp at
Opoutere 4th-6th April. We awoke to 6-8 foot
waves out front and decided to head north in
search of a wave that was more suitable for
Dan ‘the man’

everyone in the group. After watching some tow
-in surfing at Tairua the search ended at
Whitianga where some 1-2 foot left hand
peelers were found. During the weekend the
students were assessed on their camp craft and
will now gain literacy credits explaining how
interpersonal skills effected their participation in
