Why study design? • There are exciting career opportunities in fashion, textiles, footwear & accessory design. Students study a wide range of subjects on their course: • Illustration & portfolio skills • CAD, computer aided design & manufacture • Design research & contextual studies • Technical skills in garment & shoe making, textile design & print • Presentation skills & communication

We have staff expertise and a curriculum that covers the full breath of the Global fashion industry We are the only education establishment in Europe that has a tannery on campus where students can learn first hand everything from ‘Hide to High Street’ The curriculum is designed around a ‘learning through practice model’ and have state of the art purpose built facilities to support this. Northampton has a profound footwear and leather heritage, as well as being home to some of the most elite, internationally renowned footwear and luggage brands.

Entry requirements. • A typical offer is around BCC at A Level, DMM at BTEC or successful completion of a Foundation Art and Design course (or equivalent). • You’ll be expected to have achieved GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent) at grade C or above. • The Foundation Study Framework could be an option for you if you may not meet the tariff points required for admission into your preferred three year course, or if you are making a significant change in terms of the subject you would like to study.
Integrated Foundation Year The Integrated Foundation Year at the University of Northampton is an opportunity for you to successfully study a four-year version of the three- year degree without the standard entry qualifications, whilst gaining critical study skills. 15.
