Begin your tour by travelling towards the midlands. The first leg of your adventure starts in the wonderfully medieval Kilkenny City. Kilkenny is small and compact enough to explore on foot, yet full of fascinating medieval buildings including St Canice Cathedral and Kyteler’s Inn (14th Century pub reputed to be the homestead of local witch, Alice Kyteler). You may like to visit Kilkenny Castle, which has been lovingly restored and is now open to the public for tours. Kilkenny Castle stands dramatically on a strategic height that commands a crossing on the River Nore and dominates the 'High Town' of Kilkenny City. DAY 2 Depart Kilkenny this morning, heading south to Cork. We recommend a stop off at the Rock of Cashel along the way. The Rock of Cashel is a historic monastic site dramatically situated on a tall outcrop of limestone overlooking county Tipperary. Continue towards the “Gourmet Capital of Ireland”, Kinsale, for the rest of the evening at leisure. Check into your luxury hotel in Kinsale, County Cork, where you will overnight for two nights. (B&B Basis) DAY 3 It’s off to Blarney Village – Maybe visit Blarney Castle and Gardens and climb the castle’s 127 stone steps, to reach the revered Blarney Stone at the summit. If you kiss the Blarney Stone, you will receive the ‘Gift of the Gab’, also known as the gift of eloquence! Next to Killarney where you will stay for 3 relaxing nights. Renowned for its beauty and famed for the splendour of its scenery, Killarney is a gem in the County Kerry Crown. Tonight, you will overnight in Killarney, County Kerry. (B&B Basis) DAY 4 Drive Ireland’s most famous peninsula today – The Ring of Kerry, which takes you through spectacular coastal scenery, and villages and towns depicting typical rural life in Ireland. As you descend into Killarney, fabulous views of the three Lakes of Killarney are afforded from ‘Ladies View’, named after Queen Victoria’s visit at the beginning century. At Killarney’s National Park, you might like to check out the wonderful Muckross House and Gardens. Return to Killarney, County Kerry for overnight. (B&B Basis) DAY 5 Today’s adventure takes you to County Clare to visit the iconic Cliffs of Moher and to take some “Insta-worthy” images of the scenic views at this most visited natural attraction. Standing 702 feet at their highest point, they stretch for 5 miles along the Atlantic coast. Deep in the mysterious Burren region you can find the Poulnabrone Dolmen, an ancient and fascinating example of a portal tomb. The tomb is superbly sculptured and has withstood the test of time; experts believe it was built around 2500BC! Onto Galway, where you will check into your hotel accommodation for overnight. (B&B Basis) After checking into your accommodation, you can take a stroll around Galway city visiting such areas as Eyre Square, the Spanish and beautiful Salthill Promenade. DAY 6 Today, you can explore the wild and rugged region of Connemara. Connemara, made famous by a number of well-known movies – such as the John Wayne movie – “The Quiet Man”, and more
recently “The Field”. Connemara is a wild and beautiful region of mountains, lakes, tumbling streams undulating bog, unspoilt beaches and panoramic views. It is a Gaelic speaking region. The centre of Connemara is composed of mountain peaks, the Twelve Bens or Pins, which culminate in Benbaun. You should not miss the opportunity to visit Kylemore Abbey. Kylemore Abbey is the only home of the Benedictine nuns in Ireland. Killary Fjord, located in Leenane, is Ireland's only fjord. It forms a partial border between counties Galway and Mayo. It is 15 kilometres (9 miles) long and in the centre it is over 45 metres deep. Return to Galway for overnight. (B&B Basis) DAY 7 Today, you will travel from Galway to Dublin. On route, you can stop off in Clonmacnoise. Clonmacnoise lies where Saint Ciaran founded the remains of an early monastery around the year 545. Here there still survives six churches, two high crosses, two round towers and the finest Collection of Old Irish gravestones in the country. Arrive into Dublin City. Your driver will bring you to your hotel accommodation, where you will overnight for two nights. Your driver will leave you here. Explore the capital city and get to know Dublin famous landmarks including the Georgian Squares, Trinity College and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Check out the heritage pubs and enjoy the atmosphere of the city; we recommend a visit to the Brazen Head Pub (the oldest pub in Ireland!). DAY 8 Discover more of the capital city today. The best way to see the city is on the hop-on/hop-off city tour. The tour includes stops at some of Dublin’s most renowned sites, such as St Patrick’s Cathedral and Christchurch Cathedral. You may like to visit Trinity College, where the famous “Book of Kells” is on display. Don’t miss a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. The seven-storey visitor experience tells the story of Ireland’s iconic drink and brings to life the heritage of Guinness from early days to growth as a global brand, known all around the world. Return to your Dublin City hotel accommodation for your final overnight. DAY 9 This morning, a private driver will meet you in the hotel lobby and transfer you to Dublin Airport for your departure flight. Slán go Fóill! (Bye for now!)
