Neighbor Disputes: How & When to Get Involved Neighbor disputes will never go away, which means your job will always involve addressing barking, parking, smoking, partying, yelling and other grievances. Learn how to create a streamlined and effective process to properly handle neighbor disputes while adhering to California HOA law. Table Topic Speed Rounds Some of the best solutions to your management challenges can evolve from sharing your personal experiences with other professionals. Fair Housing Follies: Don’t Be Another Story Accommodation and disability issues affect every California association equally, big or small; they are serious and put an association, its board and management at risk of liability. Learn to spot FHA/ADA discrimination issues and ensure the association and board is always protected to the fullest extent. Preventing Workplace Violence The nature of your job can leave you and other staff members vulnerable to aggression from homeowners, guests and tenants – or even from fellow employees. This session will provide guidance on steps, standards and mechanisms to help you mitigate violence and deal with a crisis. Turning Conflicts into Win-Win Resolutions Does it seem like your day begins and ends with a dispute of some kind? No matter how small or big the dispute is, conflict can take its toll on the manager. This session will provide you with information and tools to both limit and successfully handle disputes of all kinds. Onsite Management Challenges & Solutions Share your real-life “war stories” about the management of members, directors and communities from the onsite perspective. Vision Awards Join us as we once again celebrate excellence in community management with the return of the CACM Vision Awards! This is your opportunity to recognize excellence in community management specifically in your region. The CACM Vision Awards have historically celebrated the “best of the best” – individuals who have displayed outstanding achievements in the community association management industry.
