Entry to the Showground: Exhibitors wishing to enter the showground during the running of the show will pay normal gate prices unless otherwise specified in this Schedule, or if the exhibitor is a member of the Association. Vehicular access is permitted in the lead-up to and following the Show, for the delivery and collection of your exhibit. Announcement of Winners/Cocktail Evening : We extend to all Sponsors, artists and their guests an invitation to the Art & Photography Awards Presentation where the Major winners will be announced and presented with awards/ prizes. RSVP to jenny@newcastleshow.com.au Membership of the Association - Optional: NAH&I Association is a not for profit, community based organisation. Membership runs from 1 July to 30 June. Standard member fees are Adult $25 and Junior $20. Members are entitled to unlimited entry to the Show. Another benefit of being a member if that you can purchase additional discounted single-entry tickets for guests at $10 for adult and $8 for concession and children. ENTRY CONDITIONS A maximum of five entries in total per competitor - any class/classes. Any one exhibit cannot be
entered in multiple classes. Entries must have been completed in the last 12 months and must be the original uncopied work of the artist. The Conditions of entry attached shall apply. Entries close 5pm Friday 21 February 2020. No late entries are accepted. PRIZE MONEY To be paid via cheque on awards night, collected from the show office or posted to you. Exhibit Details: Title, price, class entered, artist’s name, and phone number must be written clearly on the back of exhibit. 2. Entry Size: Entries must not exceed 1 square metre, including frame measurements or works of multiple components. 3. All eligible entries will be judged, however, due to limited space, it will be at the discretion of the Committee to decide on those paintings to be hung. 4. Framing: All Artwork must be framed and mounted ready for hanging with D hooks and hanging wire/cord attached. Works on Canvas may be stretched over frame. Please Note: Photographic frames will not be accepted. 5. Sculptures: If entering a sculpture, please have ready for assembly. The owner is responsible for providing their own Plinth and assembly onsite. A small table will be provided for smaller sculptures. Maximum weight 10kg unless floor mounted. Sculptures will be exhibited in an area with public access. It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure that adequate stability and protection are incorporated into the work. Bollards will be erected around sculptures for extra protection. 6. Delivery of Exhibits: All works being exhibited must be delivered directly to the Newcastle Showground, Art Room located under the Grandstands: Entry via Curley Rd. entry gate. For heavy items,,e.g. Sculptures, you may wish to drive in the Griffiths Road entry gates. Turn right and follow the road to the grandstands located on the right. ** Please note this is a change of location from previous years. FRIDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2020: 8.30 AM - 11.00 AM ** Works delivered outside these times on Friday 28 February 2020 will not be accepted 7. Collection of Exhibits: Written authority must be given to agents of exhibitors not collecting works personally. Entry fee receipt must be presented when collecting exhibits. All works may be collected in Art Room under the Grandstands, as follows: Please have your Art receipt handy to show at Curley Rd. entry gates to ensure your admittance. SUNDAY 8 MARCH 2020 BETWEEN 4.00 PM - 5.00 PM 8. Freight and Insurance: Exhibitors are responsible for the insurance of works, delivery and freight costs to and from the Newcastle Showground. 9. Entry Alterations: Careful consideration should be taken when choosing title and sale price as no changes to the work entered, its title or sale price will be accepted after entry form is submitted. 10. Sale of Works: All entries are to be for sale, with the price in dollars marked on the back, which includes the cost of the frame. A commission of 25% (Inc GST) will be charged by the Show Association on all works sold which will be deducted from the sale price. Payment will be deposited to your nominated account approximately two weeks post show. 11. All exhibitors must complete the GST section on the entry form. All prizes are inclusive of GST where it is applicable. 12. The decision of the judge in all matters will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. 13. Exhibition Standard: The Show Association reserves the right to exhibit, or not to exhibit any entry, for any reason. Entries not displayed are still eligible for judging and will be held at the Show Association
office until after the Show. All Prize-winning entries must remain at the Show for the full period of the exhibition. 14. Care and Responsibility: Works will be displayed in the Exhibition Centre located at the Newcastle Showground which will be kept secure at all times. The Association will exercise all reasonable care and security in the handling and exhibition of works submitted but will not be responsible for the loss or damage to any work while in its custody. Please list special handling instructions, if any, with entry. 15. Publicity: Permission to use Artworks for publicity purposes is assumed on entry into the competition. 16.
