Because of your support and generosity, we can help families and children who might not be able to be a member of the YMCA or participate in our programs. Our 2020 goal is to raise $20,000. In 2019, we discounted over $25,000 for children and families so they could participate in our YMCA and we are on track to discount at least that amount this year. CARROLL COUNTY AREA YMCA - Special Events 2 Person Team Weight Loss Challenge What: Most people have the same New Years resolution each year and that is to lose weight. How many people fail or do not follow through with this? Let us and your teammate help you both achieve your goals. Last year in the YMCA team challenge, challengers lost an average of 13.8 pounds over the course of 6 weeks. This challenge is open to anyone who wants to start the year off right. Winning teams will split a percentage of the cash prize winnings!! When: First weigh in: January 8th Final weigh in: February 19th Fee: YMCA Members: $30 Program Participants: $45 *Results based on percentage of weight lost, not number of pounds* Holiday Cookie Decorating What: To celebrate the holidays we will be having a cookie decorating class with Ms. O’Dell. All supplies will be provided and upon finishing, participants will take their masterpieces home to enjoy. When: February 1st Registration Deadline: January 26th Fee: YMCA Members: $10 Program Participants: $15 Where: Carroll County Area YMCA Time: 5:30-6:30 pm Ages: 5 years old-12 years old Instructor: Carissa O’Dell, Youth Program Associate for the University of Missouri Extension *Limit to 15 participants for the class* Father Daughter Night What: Due to Covid, the dance will not be happening but we have still found a way to capture that special moment for that special couple. Participants will arrive and each couple will individually enter to have their picture taken. Once the picture is taken, couples will exit and receive their goodie bags included with a sweet treat, gift certificate for a free nail painting and more! When: February 13th Registration Deadline: February 5th (No late registrations will be accepted after due to scheduling). Fee: $15 per couple ($10 each additional child) Where: Carrollton Elementary School Time: 2:00-6:00 pm *This event is limited to the first 48 couples for scheduling purposes*
CARROLL COUNTY AREA YMCA - YOUTH SPORTS Softball Hitting Clinic What: Softball hitting instruction from Katie Moore. Katie was a Division 2 starting catcher and Designated Player for three years. She will work the fundamentals and help correct participants swings. Participants MUST wear masks except when participating, no spectators allowed and participants must bring their own bat. Maximum of 10 players per session! When: December 28th-30th Registration Deadline: December 23rd Time: 9:00-10:15 am (8-12 year olds) 10:30-11:45 am (13-17 year olds) Fee: YMCA Members: $45 Program Participants: $65 Location: Carrollton Junior High School March Madness Basketball Shootouts What: Two game double elimination guarantee bracket style basketball tournament. Games will be played at the Carrollton Elementary and High School. Teams must provide their own team jerseys. two-20 minute running clock halves. We will follow the Carrollton School District Covid guidelines for player and parent safety during the tournament. Maximum of eight teams per division! When: 3rd-4th Grade: March 6th Registration Deadline: March 1st 5th-6th Grade: March 13th Registration Deadline: March 9th Fee: $100/team Spring Soccer When: Practices in March, Games on Tuesday’s in April Where: Walnut Hills in Carrollton, MO Ages: 3 years old (by March 1st) -6th Grade Fee: Iddy Biddy Members: $25 Iddy Biddy Program Participants: $40 K-6th Members: $35 K-6th Program Participants: $50 Registration Deadline: March 1st What: Kids play each position on the field in each game. All teams and divisions will play a minimum of four games. We will focus on teamwork, relationship building and teaching the game of soccer. (Volunteer coaches will be needed!) 5th-8th Grade Volleyball What: Kids and teens will learn the basic volleyball fundamentals, such as underhand serving, passing, setting, hitting and digging, in a non-competitive environment. Our youth volleyball program teaches girls all skills of the game while emphasizing good sportsmanship, teamwork and goal-setting in a fun atmosphere. (Volunteer coaches will be needed!) Who: Girls in 5th-8th Grade (7th & 8th graders may register as pre-formed teams.) When: Monday nights beginning in late March or early April (minimum of 5 games) Location: Games will be played at Grand River Area Family YMCA and possibly at Carrollton School District pending number of teams. Cost: $35 Members/$70 Program Participants Registration Deadline: March 1st

CARROLL COUNTY AREA YMCA - GROUP FITNESS Free Group Fitness Classes (Included with your Y membership) Butts & Guts Instructor: Toni Hall Lets rock Tuesday nights with Toni’s Butts & Guts class. This class will focus on lower body and core exercises to help tighten and tone. There will be modifications for anyone who needs them. Zumba Instructor: Tracey Wozny Start your Monday off right! Get a great combination Cycle of “grooving” with this cardio workout. Barre fitness is a hybrid workout class - combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, Yoga yoga and strength training. This class tones, tightens and Cardio Craze produces amazing core strength. Instructor: Toni Hall Toni is ready to get your heartrate up and pumping in Matter of Balance Cardio Craze. This class will be a combination of Instructor: Sue Robison (University of MO Ext) workouts focused on elevating the heartrate and dropping those pounds.
