Simon de Senlis Primary Weekly Update – 7th May 2021 Dear Parents and Carers, The sun is shining at last and I have my fingers crossed for a dry weekend!! I know how much children love to spend time in the outdoors and we definitely see this from any outdoor learning in school such as the current Science topics taking place across school linked to plants and also to forces. In Reception and Year 1, the weekly Forest School lesson is always such a success, with children investigating, exploring and developing their knowledge of the world around them. Communication and language is always so rich in any of these outdoor lessons as children are always so inquisitive. You will see further in the newsletter today, information about National Hedgehog week. In addition, see the information about identifying birds in your garden or parks. Let’s hope the weather continues to be dry this weekend so we can all spend time out and about enjoying the wonderful world around us. I look forward to seeing you all next week. Best wishes Mrs Fennelly

Simon de Senlis Primary Weekly Update 2021 The Art and Craft club are currently working on decorating rocks to help create a rainbow display with the Parish Council and East Hunsbury Rocks to celebrate the birthday of the NHS. We would like to decorate rocks with the images of rainbows which will be part of a community display. It is best to use acrylic paint or permanent pens for the design and to help the pattern last, a coat of varnish is recommended but not essential. Please send photos of your rainbow rocks to me through the Teams Page and I will arrange for them to be collected in school soon. If you would like to be part of the Online Art and Craft Club please do email info@simondesenlis.org. Keep creating! Mrs Egan
