Si View News Little by little, Si View operations continue to expand with modifications. Our pool is now back open for private swim lessons and water fitness classes. The Community Center is once again programmed seven days a week. As we continue to work through the re-opening phases, we are committed to operating our parks, facilities, and programs in a way that ensures the health and safety of our community and staff. We appreciate your support and commitment to recreating responsibly in our parks and our facilities. For latest updates, visit www.siviewpark.org. Trails for Mountain Biking and Hiking Tennant Trailhead Park is a 32-acre parcel on Rattlesnake Mountain that will offer trails for mountain biking and hiking as well as a picnic area and viewpoints. Located, just south of Interstate 90 at Exit 31 in North Bend, the park contains high quality environmental features with mature forests, wetlands, creeks, steep topography and glacial erratic rock features. This park became a reality thanks to a strong partnership between the City of North Bend, Si View Metropolitan Park District, King County and the Trust for Public Land. Preserving this parcel from development for conservation, recreation and education is a win that ev- eryone in the community to enjoy. The master plan envisions a passive recreation park that provides year-round recreation for local residents and the broader region with a non-motorized trail system for mountain bikers and hikers, picnic areas and viewpoints. One of the key elements of the Tennant Trailhead Park trail system is family focused moun- tain biking trails that are easy and short enough for absolute beginners yet provide progression through a future connection to the Raging River system for some truly epic riding experiences. These beginner trails will be a welcome addition to the local trail inventory, and best of all reachable on a bike from many of our local neighborhoods. We are excited for all the benefits this new park will provide for our community! Funded by Si View’s capital bond, the design is now in progress. The project team is working to address natural resource protection and acquire the permits necessary to do the work. Once complete, we will begin phase 1 construction. The trailhead facilities and parking are funded by King County Parks and sched- uled for construction in 2022-2023. Additional funding will be sought through grants for future phases. Interested in volunteering with trail projects? Please contact Bobby Stewart with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance (bobbystewart@evergreenmtb.org), our partner for Tennant Trailhead Park development. www.siviewpark.org Si View News Program Plan Next Steps: Online Community Needs Survey Over the past few months, the Si View Program Plan project team has been mapping local demo- graphics data and regional trends and collecting community input from stakeholders and focus groups. We are currently in the midst of a statis- tically-valid resident needs survey which was mailed to a random sample of District residents. If you have a survey in your mailbox, please com- plete and return it at your earliest convenience, every response is valuable! In this process of data collection, several themes have emerged as high priorities for a number of groups. Some examples include: continuing the fo- cus for a connected local trail network, exploring new opportunities and options for outdoor recre- ation programs and facilities, ensuring collabora- tion and partnerships are utilized to deliver ser- vices and maximizing use of existing park spaces. Our next step is a community-wide online survey to gather input from the greater Snoqualmie Valley communities we serve. This online survey is your opportunity to share your priorities for future rec- reation programming and services – what services are most important to you and how should they be delivered.
