               White Sugar or Brown Sugar?
                          One of the most common debates in consumer goods now
                          answered.

                          With the rise in popularity of brown sugar in the past few
                          years, the food and beverage industry has been leveraging
                          it as the superior alternative in both taste and health
                          benefits compared to its classic counterpart.

                          Sugar has been the most quintessential ingredient in our
                          diet for many generations. From baking to cooking, brown
                          sugar is now the leading ingredient in sweet products
                          namely peanut butter, cakes, cookies, barbeque sauces,
                          coffee, milk tea and plenty others to list a few. So, what is
                          the magic here?

                          As far as function, white sugar and brown sugar are
                          completely interchangeable. In terms of utility, the two are
                          often direct substitutes of one another and are used
                          similarly in cooking. However, there are certain noticeable
                          differences which may affect the user’s preference in the
                          final product such as the colour, taste and aroma.

                 Brown sugar tends to produce foods with a browner tinge
                 whereas white sugar will produce lighter-coloured products.
                 Brown sugar also delivers a deeper caramel-like flavour and
                 aroma when it is applied, which can be a big boon for many
                 who prefer it, and works especially well with chocolates,
                 coffees and cakes. For white sugar, its neutral profile will
                 highlight the original taste of the desired food as it carries no
                 other intruding flavours.

The main query is their nutritional benefits. Brown sugar is
                            brown in colour due to its composition of conventional
                            sugar and molasses, a type of sugar-based syrup.

                            Although the nutritional contents present in brown sugar
                            are often considered to be too insignificant to make a real

                            In the grand scheme of things, brown sugar does have a
                            slight edge over white sugar. Choose your sugar based on
                            what is most suitable for each occasion and will best fit
                            your personal preference.

                            The bigger picture - While brown sugar is overall, the wiser
                            choice of sugar in terms of both flavour and nutritional
                            content, it is advisable not to view it as an absolute
                            superior alternative and always be reminded to take
                            careful watch over your sugar intake levels, white or brown
                            sugar regardless. If not consumed in moderation, both can
                            carry the potential to bring about certain health risks.

     RCCA Keith had a good head start in his career after
     graduating from university. From his internship, he
     became a permanent employee in an established
     international media agency. Eighteen months later,
     he was headhunted to join Malaysia’s first pay-TV

     Many envied his career journey. Yet, 18 months later,
     he again made a career change. However, this time, it
     changed his life for the best.

“My parents and future family are my strongest
motivation to succeed young. My parents are self-
sufficient now but it’s my responsibility to make sure
they have a carefree, enjoyable life. Let’s be honest,
many young people today rely on their parents to help
with the down payment for their house, apartment,
car, etc. I will not burden my parents with this,” Keith
maintained.

                                             For Keith, being successful and financially sound is not about
                                             living a lifestyle of “doing nothing” in the future; it’s about
                                             having the freedom to live the life he wants and do the things
                                             he wants. “Now, I have time to design the interior of my new
                                             house, and spend time with my family who are living abroad.

                                             When travelling, I’m able to enjoy my holiday while running my
                                             BE business at my convenience. All I need is a smartphone
                                             and BE2U app. Year 2020 has really opened people’s eyes that

                                             shared.

     RCCA Loh Soo Hau and Shirley Tay led a simple family
     life after they got married. Soo Hau was the main
     breadwinner while Shirley was contented with her
     teaching job. Raised on the mantra that stability is
     the key factor to a happy life, nevertheless they quit
     their stable jobs to pursue BE fulltime. Here, they
     share their reasons for doing so.

     Their BE journey began when Soo Hau bought a pair

                                              to nurture people. “I was a primary school teacher for 15 years.
                                              I love my students. But I only have 6 years to nurture them. At
                                              BE, I can be a good influence to people for the rest of their
                                              lives.”

                                              TWO MINDS BECOME ONE
                                              When the couple were pursuing different careers, they had
                                              different experiences and conversation topics. “Soo Hau was
                                              always tired of listening to my school stories. I wondered
                                              when we’re old, would we be two old people talking about our
                                              own stories with nothing in common?! But now, we share
                                              common interests, friends, goals and dreams,” she enthused.

     RCCA Rachel Lee, 27, was once a fierce skeptic

     willing to ditch their stubbornness and give their
     best.

office rental and staff salaries,” Rachel proudly
shared.

                                              Once a self-centric person, Rachel felt that BE has taught her
                                              precious life lessons. “I’ve learned that success is not about
                                              myself. Success is only achieved when I have helped others to
                                              succeed too. Here at BE, I’ve developed the attitude of putting
                                              other people before myself, to help others to help myself.”

                                              Born in the ‘90s, Rachel admits that young people like her are
                                              very opinionated – they want freedom, but they are picky
