DAY 2: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 • EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND Arrive in Edinburgh and meet your professional tour director before boarding your private motor coach and transferring to the city-center. Celebrate Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, with time to pray at the National Shrine of St. Andrew and venerate his relics. Lunch on your own in Old Town and see the Edinburgh Castle and St. Giles Cathedral. End the day with a visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the royal residence of the Kings and Queens of the Scots. Welcome Dinner and overnight in Edinburgh. DAY 3: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 • ST. ANDREWS After breakfast, depart on a day trip to the legendary town of St. Andrews, named after the Apostle and patron saint of Scotland. Upon arrival, celebrate Mass at St. James’ Catholic Church. Then, see what remains of the largest church in Scotland, St. Andrews Cathedral, believed to have once been the resting place of St. Andrew. During the afternoon, walk to the Martyr’s Monument, dedicated to the Reformation martyrs, or discover the “home of golf” by visiting the British Golf Museum. Return to Edinburgh for dinner on your own. Overnight in Edinburgh. DAY 4: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 • FREE DAY | DISTILLERY TOUR This morning, celebrate Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, home parish of Venerable Margaret Sinclair. Visit the shrine and small museum capturing how she transformed the realities of everyday living and the prejudice she withstood because of her Catholic faith. After lunch on your own, visit the Glenkinchie Distillery to learn about the history of whiskey and sample varieties of single malt whiskey scotch. A special Farewell to Scotland Dinner will take place this evening. Overnight in Edinburgh. DAY 5: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 • BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND Early departure from Edinburgh and make your way towards Glasgow and south towards the coastal town of Ayr and a rest stop at the Robert Burns centre, birthplace of Scotland’s national poet. Onwards to the town of Cairnryan and take the ferry to Belfast Port in Northern Ireland. Upon arrival make your way to the city centre and an overview of Belfast City. See both sides of the divide and stop at the peace walls, symbolizing how peace has driven prosperity and reconciliation within the communities. Celebrate Mass in St. Malachy’s Church. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Belfast. DAY 6: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 • CLONMACNOISE | GALWAY This morning, make your way south towards the town of Strangford, celebrate mass in Strangford Church where St Patrick first landed. Onwards then to the grave of St Patrick and a visit to the St Patrick Centre and a possible meeting with Dr Tim Campbell an expert on St Patrick. From here onwards to the town of Newry and south to the Hill of Slane from where it is believed St. Patrick lit the Paschal fire in defiance of the chieftains and was allowed to continue his teaching and conversion to Christianity. Continue through Meath and onto the midlands of Ireland and onto Galway and enjoy its rich history, quaint narrow streets, boutique shops and galleries as well as its lively pubs with great traditional music. Dinner in your hotel and after suggestions for good pubs and live Irish music. Overnight in Galway. DAY 7: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 • KNOCK SHRINE | BALLINTUBBER ABBEY | ST. PATRICK’S WELL After breakfast, depart for a visit to Ireland’s most famous pilgrimage site at Knock in County Mayo. Learn about the 1879 apparition of Our Lady of Knock, after which you will celebrate Mass in the Apparition Chapel. Enjoy lunch with the possibility of meeting and hearing from Marion Carroll, who was miraculously healed at the Shrine (pending confirmation). From Knock, travel on to Ballintubber Abbey and visit St. Patrick’s Well, where the Saint baptized his converts and left an imprint of his knee in a stone that remains there to this day. Return to Galway for dinner on your own and overnight. DAY 8: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 • CLIFFS OF MOHER | ST. BRIGID’S WELL | MASS ROCK | KILLARNEY After breakfast, see the majestic Cliffs of Moher, which rise some 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, for breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Stop at the healing well of St. Brigid. Travel through County Clare to celebrate an outdoor Mass on a stone altar used during the Penal times (1690-1750AD) when Catholics were being persecuted for practicing their faith. Continue to Killarney for hotel check-in and dinner. Overnight in Killarney. DAY 9: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 • DINGLE BAY | RING OF KERRY | MUCKROSS HOUSE Enjoy a full Irish breakfast before departing for a tour of the famous Ring of Kerry. Extending over 100 miles in length, the Ring of Kerry is one of the world’s most-beautiful scenic routes with its unusually mild climate and rapid changes in light. Visit the grounds and gardens of the beautiful Muckross House. Celebrate Mass at the 15th century Franciscan Abbey. Continue your travels through Killorglin and Glenbeigh and thrill at the spectacular views of Dingle Bay. Enjoy a traditional evening of Irish music, song, and dance with dinner. Overnight in Killarney. DAY 10: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 • BLARNEY | DUBLIN Departing Killarney, travel towards Blarney Castle to kiss the famous Blarney Stone and gain the “gift of gab”. Celebrate Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Time to shop in the extensive Blarney Woolen Mills, which houses gifts and crafts from throughout Ireland. Continue on to Ireland’s capital, Dublin. The country’s hub of commerce, art, and education has been home to many of the world’s greatest authors and playwrights. Dinner on your own and overnight in Dublin. DAY 11: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 • ST. MARY’S PRO-CATHEDRAL | FREE AFTERNOON | FAREWELL DINNER This morning enjoy a panoramic tour of Dublin including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, now part of the Church of Ireland. Celebrate Mass at St. Mary’s Pro- Cathedral. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city: view the magnificent Book of Kells, an illuminated copy of the Four Gospels; do a tasting at the Jameson Distillery or Guinness Storehouse Museum; or enjoy a leisurely lunch and people-watching in the Temple Bar area. Tonight, reminisce and share favorite memories at a Farewell Irish Show and Dinner. Overnight in Dublin.
