Meeting 4:00 4th Grade Math Team Hello Meredith Hill Families, Timely Updates from Superintendent Dr. Campbell Please be sure to reference Dr. Campbell’s Friday eNewsletter for the most up-to-date information related to our Hybrid transition. Window Closed for Choosing Hybrid or Remote The window closed last Friday, February 19th for choosing 100% remote or hybrid. We provided parents a second opportunity with an additional 9 days to make their nal selection for the
remainder of the school year with the nal survey deadline of last Friday, February 19th. Now that the deadline has passed, we are unable to accommodate any requests to change the selection. The reason why is that making changes after the deadline would signi cantly delay the start of in-person learning. While we are making every effort to keep teachers and students together, recognizing we must adhere to social distancing guidelines and class size limitations and respond to parents’ choice of the model and staff accommodation requests, we must rebalance classrooms. This means your child’s teacher may change. We recognize changes are not ideal, and we’re doing what we can to maintain continuity as much as possible and school staff will be supporting the transition. Complete online Health Screening (attestation) Form Required Before Entering the Classroom It is very important that all families in the hybrid model complete the daily and required online health screening (attestation). Once school begins, families selecting face to face instruction, will receive a daily link to complete the health survey for each child. More information can be found at www.fwps.org/healthscreening Family Resources: Return to campus Video Overview: https://www.fwps.org/Page/8056 Family Guide (Health and safety protocols and Schedule Overview): https://www.fwps.org/Page/8030 Hybrid Orientation Video in Multiple Languages: Language Links Spanish https://youtu.be/GAZxSSPpdQo Vietnamese https://youtu.be/IIs8NX-dHLo Russian https://youtu.be/nseIc1F6G-Y Korean https://youtu.be/Rgi1Sl42zfI English https://youtu.be/rx9Rsyi-_fk Somali https://youtu.be/EJAgRY7oO5s Ukrainian https://youtu.be/_Hn4kBADpQY
Important Health and Safety Measures Here is a preview of some of the safety measures we are taking: Daily health screening attestation and temperature checks that must be completed every day for all staff and scholars before they enter the school building Masks will be required for all school staff and students; if a scholar does not comply and wear their mask, parent/guardian will be called to pick them up Scholars will arrive on a staggered schedule to promote social distancing Social Distancing will be practiced in all areas and there will be regular handwashing throughout the day Visitors will not be allowed on campus in order to minimize the number of people on campus Helen Babbin, Principal Meredith Hill Elementary 253.945.3205 hbabbin@fwps.org Click here for Fun Friday! Counselor's Corner Resilience de nition: The capacity to recover quickly from di culties. In the upcoming weeks, regardless of whether your scholar will be transitioning to the in-person Hybrid Model, switching to a new teacher while staying remote, and/or having to adjust to new classmates we will all need a little resilience. Although it is super exciting that we will be having students back in the building, it will take some time and patience to get use to new routines and new people. I hope you have had the chance to explore the three Social and Emotional curriculums we are using here at Meredith Hill. Learning to have better control over our emotions, thoughts, and bodies will come in handy as we move through the upcoming transitions. 3rd – 5th graders have learned that although there are many circumstances out of our control there are always 5 Things We Can Control: Attitude, Words, Actions, Manners, and Effort. Learning to control these 5 Things can make a huge difference in how we think and feel about the world around us!
Please click onto my Canvas Page and learn more about what scholars are learning for emotion management, self-regulation, and positive problem solving.
