NIRVANA TOURS OMAN & DUBAI The Arabian Nights - 11Nights / 13 Days. Group Departures Dates - 07 Nov’ 09, 09 Jan’10 & 06 Feb ‘10 Day 01: Depart Toronto. Day 02: Arrival in Muscat On your arrival at Muscat (SEEB) International airport you will proceed to the immigration counters and there our airport representative will be waiting for you to assist you in completing the visa process. Later on proceed to the luggage collection. Our guide and driver will be waiting for you at the arrival lounge to escort to our luxury coach and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Majan Continental Hotel. Day 03: Muscat Half day city tour After breakfast at the hotel. You will meet your guide at the hotel and start discovering Oman. Muscat offers the visitor a unique opportunity to witness a modern centre existing in harmony with its traditional culture. With its natural harbor, Muscat, meaning “Anchorage”, lies in a natural bowl. Our tour is a brief introduction that traces Oman‟s history and development. You will visit first to the Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in Oman, also has the biggest carpet in the world. (All visitors must be fully covered to wrists and ankles; ladies must wear a scarf covering hair and neck for a visit to the Grand Mosque.) (Grand Mosque open only from Saturday to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday closed and the opening time is from 0800 – 1100 hrs). Later on we will drive along the waterfront Cornice visiting the colorful Muttrah Souq. We will proceed then for a photo stop to the magnificent Al Alam Palace, official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani & Jalali. You can also visit Bait Zubair Museum which is located in the old Muscat. Evening is at leisure. Relax or enjoy a visit to the Muttrah Souk (Shopping Street).Overnight at Majan Continental Hotel. (B)
Day 04: Muscat – Barka –Nakhal – Rustaq - Muscat After breakfast leave the capital area towards west to reach the wide open area of Batinah between the Hajar and the sea. We will stop first at Barka to visit the traditional fish market where the people are still selling their fish on the beach on a very traditional way. Then you will see the bullfighting arena where this sport is been held and practiced for every alternative Friday. Later on proceed to the ancient fort of Nakhal, which was built in the pre-Islamic era. It is perfectly positioned for defense, protected by the surrounding mountains among huge palm groves. After visiting the fort we will guide you to the hot springs and continue to Rustaq with its Fort and rich historical background as former capital of Oman. From Rustaq we easily reach Al Hazm and visit its Fort, which is famed for its huge carved doors and its tricky internal traps for protection. From Al Hazm we return back to Muscat. Picnic lunches (not included) can be served at the spring‟s area at Nakhal oasis. Overnight at Majan Continental Hotel. (B) Day 05: Muscat - Nizwa Drive through the spectacular Western Hajar Mountains to Nizwa, capital of the interior and birthplace of Islam in the Sultanate of Oman. Nizwa is famous for its Round Tower Fort, built in the 17 th century, and the souq with its Friday cattle auction, and intricately hand-carved „khanjars‟ (daggers). En route to Nizwa visit the pretty village of Birkat al Mauz, situated in the foothills of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountains) and enjoy a walk through its oasis and date plantations. Later visit the hotel of Nizwa, continue visit the historic town of Bahla , encircled by a winding wall and is famous for pottery as well as a large fort which is now included on UNESCO‟s world heritage list. Jabrin, built in the late 17th century and the finest of Oman‟s castles became a seat of Omani learning. The castle displays the highest achievement in Omani ceiling painting and has beautifully executed woodcarvings. After the visit of the fort we drive back to the hotel in Nizwa. Day 06: Nizwa - Jabrin – Al Hamra – Al Ain - Dubai After breakfast you will drive to Nizwa to visit the Nizwa fort & souq. Then continue to Bahla village to visit Jabrin the finest castle in Oman with original paint on the walls and the ceiling. On the way we will stop at the old and abandoned village of Tanuf right at the exit of a deep Mountain Wadi. . From here you will continue North to Al Ain Border our Guide will helps the Clients to the clearance of the paper and proceed ahead to Dubai. Arrive Dubai and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight at the Flora Grand Hotel. (B) Day 7: Dubai After breakfast proceed on a city tour of Dubai. The tour of the city of Dubai introduces both the new and the old Dubai. The tour commences with the new environs of Dubai and then stops at the Jumeira Mosque, one of the landmarks of Dubai, followed by a drive along the Dubai Creek, the lifeline and pulse of the city. The tour stops for people to stroll through the narrow lanes of Bastakia, old Dubai, and continues to the Al Fahidi Fort, which houses the Dubai Museum. From here, walk through the souls and cross the Creek in an Abra (water taxi) and continue through the spice souk, with its aromas of exotic spices and the walk to the Gold Souk with its 220 glittering shop windows. (Tour does not operate on Friday Mornings)
Afternoon is free to relax, until you are picked up at 4 p.m for a one of a kind experience in your life time. A Dune Safari with BBQ Dinner and Belly Dancing (included). Our trained guides make you enjoy the splendid Dune Bashing in 4WD‟s explaining about the desert and its features. We move on to the camel farm and the sunset point where you enjoy the setting sun from the highest point. Nothing can compare with the magic of the desert sunset; a gentle breeze blowing over the dunes and the distant sound of the Muezzin from the minarets. As dusk falls you move to Our camp where a delicious BBQ dinner is served. Preceded by a traditional Arabic starter, fresh bread is cooked over an open fire. You can enjoy sand skiing, camel riding and henna painting. Join the Belly dancer and dance your evening to the Arabic music or you can just lie back and listen to the silence of the desert enjoying the cool breeze of the desert. (Drinks will be charged as per consumption).Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the Flora Grand Hotel. (B & D) Day 8: Dubai - Abu Dhabi - Dubai. After a leisure breakfast we depart on a full day sightseeing tour of Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates, which is a cosmopolitan metropolis raising out of the sand. Abu Dhabi is the federal capital of the UAE and the emirate is the largest in the UAE. It is the center of government and business life in the UAE, headquarters of the emirates oil operating companies and embassies are based here. The city is spaciously planned and now uniquely green. The tour includes the beautiful corniche, the focal point of the city, dhow building yards, palaces and the petroleum museum. Return back to Dubai. Lunch at a local restaurant (included). Overnight at the Flora Grand Hotel. (B & L) Day 9: Dubai - Sharjah - Ajman - Dubai. After a relaxed breakfast we proceed on a half day tour of Sharjah. The emirate of Sharjah is only 20 minutes from Dubai. Sharjah is now the cultural centre of the Middle East. It is the centre for museums and artists. The tour commences at the Cultural Roundabout, on to the Natural History Museum, and the return to the Corniche, the Al Majara Souk and the Al Naboodah House and the Al Arsa Souk. The tour ends at the fabulous Central Souk, with its typical Arabic architecture and hundreds of shops.
After lunch at a local restaurant we continue to visit Ajman. This smallest of the seven emirates with an area of just 260 sq. km is centrally located on the western coast of the UAE. There is a beautiful old fort at its centre. Like the other emirates Ajman too has a pleasant blend of the old and the new, the simple and the sophisticated. Return back to Dubai. Overnight at the Flora Grand Hotel. (B & L) Day 10 & Day 11: Dubai. Days at leisure to relax, shop or more sightseeing as there is lots to see and enjoy in this beautiful and modern city. Visit the Indoor Ski Jump resort and the Ice Café. Overnight at the Flora Grand Hotel. (B) Day 12: Dubai After breakfast day is at leisure for any last minute shopping. Evening enjoy a wonderful dinner (included) aboard a traditional Arabic Dhow that glides silently along the creek of Dubai under a starry and moonlit sky. This cruise aboard this traditional wooden vessel offers an intriguingly different view of this amazing city. You will see many other wooden vessels, which still brave the open seas to deliver it's goods to faraway places, as well as the super modern Yacht's and ships. Enjoy the scenery by night with its beautifully lit city, which is
truly mesmerizing. Admire the architecture of places such as the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, the spectacular Chamber of Commerce building and also Sheikh Saeed's house, the birthplace of Sheikh Rashid. A sumptuous dinner is served whilst you cruise along. Enjoy the delicious taste of true Arabian hospitality. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (B & D) Day 13: Dubai Very early in the morning transfer to the airport for your return flight back home. END OF THE TOUR SERVICES. TOUR COST FROM: CAD$2840 Per Person on twin sharing basis.
