IIHM TEACHERS’ DAY AWARDS It’s a moment of great pride for our school as the esteemed Principal Ms Rashmi Malik and our Senior Coordinator Dr Sanjay Kumar received Principal par Excellence Award 2018 and Teacher par Excellence Award 2018 respectively. The IIHM organised the Teachers’ Day award Ceremony on 1 September 2018 at ‘The Grand’, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and felicitated the Principals and the teachers of Delhi and NCR schools. LITERARY AWARDS Dr Manoj Tiwari was honoured on September 14, 2018 for his immense contribution to Hindi language on the occasion of Hindi Diwas by Madhuban Educational Books. Dr Sanjay Kumar and Dr. Manoj Tiwari were conferred upon awards ‘Hindi Shikshak Samman 2018’ for their contribution towards the development and spread of Hindi language on 30 September 2018 by Hindustani Basha Academy. PHYSICAL EDUCATION AWARDS Mr. Dharam Singh, Physical Education Teacher was awarded as the 2nd Outstanding Physical Education Teacher/Coach Award 2018 on September 27, 2018 at Bal Bharti Public School, New Delhi.
Journeying through campus events JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS Janamshtami was celebrated with great zeal and pomp on 1 September 2018 by the students of Primary Wing.Thecelebration commenced with a thought based on Krishna’s teachings and Philosophy of life citing the importance of virtues like calmness, gentleness, silence, self-restraint and purity of mind.Further, the students gave a brief of the festival narrating its significance and celebration in different styles across different states in India making a special mention of Dahi –handi in Maharashtra and Dandiya in Gujrat. The students concluded by emphasizing the fact that whenever there will be dominance of malevolence, ‘He’ will reincarnate to destroy the evil and save the good. This was followed by a beautiful poem recitation. Children mesmerized everyone with their laudable performance. The Students Celebrating Janmashtami
TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS Teachers’ Day was celebrated on September 5, 2018 which marks the birth anniversary of the great teacher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The students presented cultural programmes and offered flowers and card to their mentors as a token of love and gratitude. The cultural extravaganza ended with an address by our Principal, Ms Rashmi Malik, who wished everyone a very Happy Teachers Day. Students expressing their love and gratitude for their teachers
INVESTITURE CEREMONY The swearing in ceremony of the new council was organised on 6 September 2018 in school auditorium. Investiture was a solemn ceremony where the student council received not only their badges and sashes from the Principal, Vice Principal and Headmistress but also the responsibility of carrying out the vision of the school. The council then affirmed their commitment to the school. Our Principal, Ms.Rashmi Malik wished the newly elected council best of luck for their endeavours. She laid stress on the fact that a leader must first conquer oneself to conquer all the challenges and difficulties set before him/her. The Student Council taking up new responsibility
ORANGE COLOUR DAY Orange is the happiest color as it strengthens our emotional body, encouraging a general feeling of joy, well-being, and cheerfulness. The orange colour was ubiquitous on 7 September2018 as the students of Pre Primary were with orange flickers dancing all around. Our little ones came dressed in orange attire to celebrate the happiness of the colour. Kids also did art and craft activities based on orange colours for their takeaways. GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATIONS The students of class II presented a special assembly on 13th September 2018on Ganesh Chaturthi. The assembly commenced with a brief of the festival narrating its significance and celebration. The students also performed Ganesh Vandana and a skit depicting why Lord Ganesha is always worshipped first before any auspicious celebrations. HINDI DIWAS Hasya Kavita Vachan was organised for classes I and II on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on 14 September 2018. The assembly was filled with laughter as our little poets rendered their funny poems with beautiful expressions. It was also organised for classes VI to X on 26 September and made it very informative for the audience to know about the mother tongue of their country. It comprised of many events such as dance, song, plays and poem. The assembly also presented the beauty of the ‘HINDI’ language through the introduction of ‘NAVRAS’ which means nine emotions. MAKE A DIFFERENCE The students of all the blocks participated in the Cleanliness Drive- Swach Bharat Abhiyan on 27 September 2018. The students participated enthusiastically in cleaning the entire school premises. The Change makers engaged in the ‘Cleanliness Drive’
WORKSHOP ON LIFE SKILLS Salwan Public School, Gurugram under the aegis of Gurgaon Progressive Schools Council (GPSC) organised an interactive workshop on Life Skills on Tuesday, 18th September 2018. The resource person was Ms. Geetanjali Kumar, a renowned psychologist, life skill trainer, parenting coach, motivational speaker and a family therapist. The school Principal, Ms Rashmi Malik in her welcome address enlightened the gathering regarding the need of emotional intelligence and why it is gaining importance in today’s time. There were 46 participants from different schools across Delhi/NCR. The session aimed at hands on techniques to emotionally connect with the children to empower children to be responsible & accountable for their own choices and decisions. The resource person summed up her session with these lines, “All children deserve to live in the world that enables them to flourish. EMOTIONAL CONCERNS DURING ADOLESCENCE Of all the relations, mothers and daughters have a special connect. Mothers occupy an important role in the emotional and physical growth of their daughters as they pass through different phases of life. As we believe in collaborating with parents in all aspects of growth of our students, an interactive session was organized on Saturday, 29 September 2018 for the mothers and daughters of class 5. The session provided them with the knowledge, skills and values to help in the comfortable and smooth transition of the young adolescent girls into Adulthood. The mothers learnt about the emotional developments of their child during this phase and our young girls realized that they shared common concerns and they need to talk about them with their mothers. HANDS ON EXPERIENCE The North Cap University (formerly ITM University), Gurugram conducted a workshop on “Internet on Things (IoT)” which was held on Tuesday, 4th Sept. ’18. The objective of the event was to make the school students familiar with the technical education and to develop curiosity about IoT. Eight students from our school participated and they were introduced to ‘IoT’ session with the basic description of how the things are connected together using Internet and make the life of humans easier, better and safer with the help of internet.
