SCHEDULE ❏ We have a hybrid schedule at the high school; some classes run all year and others for a semester. ❏ Most 9th grade courses run for the year with the exception of Science classes. ❏ We have an 8 period day with the first period starting at 7:30 a.m. and the student day ending at 2:25 p.m.; academic support is available until 2:50 p.m.

ATTENDANCE ❏ If you’re too sick to come to school… ■ Parent/Guardian must contact the school by phone or email ■ You must also submit a note to the school’s main office on the student returns ❏ If you do not feel well at school... ■ We will make every effort to support your return to class ■ If you cannot remain at school, you will need a note from your doctor (not the school nurse) to excuse the absence
ATTENDANCE Excused Absence(s) - Skyward Code: E ❏ Written note received within 5 school days Unlawful Absence(s) - Skyward Code: X-UA ❏ A note that meets state requirements but is submitted after school days will not be excused. Students will still be able to make up work.

ATTENDANCE - TRUANCY If more than 3 unexcused absences: ❏ A Student Attendance Improvement Plan will be created ❏ Possible referral to the District Judge and the proper county agencies ■ Parent Impact: $300 fine + court fees; parenting education program ■ Student Impact: 1st Truancy Offense – 90 day loss of license or 90 day exclusion for permit application after 16th birthday ■ Student Impact: 2nd Truancy Offense – 6 month loss of license or 6 month exclusion for permit application after 16th birthday

DRESS CODE ❏ Shirts ■ Must have sleeves delineated by a shoulder seam and must conceal cleavage and cover undergarments. ■ Not allowed: tube tops, spaghetti straps, camisoles, see-through clothing, anything that shows midriffs ❏ Skirts/Shorts/Dresses ■ Fingertip length ■ Clothing not meeting this length must be worn with opaque stockings (tights) or warm-up pants
DRESS CODE ❏ Hats ■ May be worn TO school, not IN school ■ Must be placed in a locker, not carried to class ❏ Clothing ■ May not promote alcohol, drugs, or violence (weapons, bombs) ■ May not display inappropriate words, slogans, or double meanings ■ May not wear sleepwear, slippers, or clothing with excessive holes ■ Pants must be worn at the waist
CAFETERIA ❏ Please get to the cafeteria on time ❏ You may bring your lunch or buy a lunch ❏ Keep your area clean ■ If you make a mess, we have buckets and dishcloths for you to clean it up ❏ You must remain in the cafeteria during lunch and will be dismissed to your next class
