BOORAGUL PUBLIC SCHOOL Aspinall St Booragul 2284 Phone: 49582013 Email: booragul-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au Website: www.booragul-p.schools@det.nsw.edu Kindy Club Kicks Goals The first semester of our transition to school program, ‘Kindy Club,’is well and truly in full swing thanks to Miss Hogan and Mr Hutton. Our 2019 Kindergarten students are busy becoming acquainted with our school environment and discovering how we get ready to learn when we start at ‘big school’. Each week there are different learning opportunities in the areas of literacy and numeracy, as well as activities to promote fine motor and gross motor skills, which improve handwriting and sports skills. We would like to publicly thank Coles at Glendale for donating fruit each week for our new people to have at break time. Delightful Disco Dancers Many thanks to our wonderful P&C committee and other volunteers who organised our Term 1 disco recently. Booragul students danced their socks off, having a wonderful time with their friends. Looking through the photos we have identified talented limbo artists and amazing break dancers who would give anyone a run for their money in a dancing competition. Appreciation also goes to the wonderful staff who stayed behind after a busy day in the classroom to supervise the students. This is another demonstration of our beautiful community working together for our students. Classroom Showcase - 2/3A This week we are shining a spotlight on Mrs Klein, Mr Weber and the amazing young people in 2/3A. They have been working diligently to improve their imaginative writing using, for example, powerful adverbs. From the pre-assessment at the beginning of the term, which all students from Years 1-6 complete, teachers design specific learning tasks for their class cohort in order to improve their results at the mid-term mark. From looking at their initial results, we will be watching their progress closely, to actually see how much growth each student can make towards their own personal benchmark/writing goal.
