Father Sam’s Corner Divine Mercy Sunday Gospel: John 20:19-31 Reflecting on the inconceivable Mercy of God on Divine Mercy Sunday Divine Mercy Sunday is in the list of the revelations recorded by Saint Faustina. In one of what he revealed to Saint Faustina, our Lord asked that first Sunday of Easter be devoted to celebrating and praying for his Divine Mercy. So today we thank our Lord for his inconceivable mercy for us, for our sins and sins of our brothers and sisters. Thus, on a day like this we turn our minds to all that the Lord has done for us and the world, even as we pray for his Mercy on us and on the whole sinful world. Consequently, in the Divine Mercy revelation the Lord asked Faustina to tell the world to take his Dive Mercy as “a refuge and shelter for all souls, especially for the poor sinners.” Also, the Lord declared that all who confessed their sins and received Eucharist today will receive total forgiveness of their sins and punishment. Our Lord assures us of his mercy any time we approach him asking for forgiveness. From the above promises we can see that the God we serve is a merciful God and when we reflect on His gifts, love and kindness towards sinners like us we must confess that His Mercy has no equal. Let us mention few instances in the scripture why we say that God’s Mercy is inconceivable and incomparable. First and foremost it is out God’s inconceivable mercy that He looked at the sinful world and sent His only Son to the world that all might be saved. In today’s Gospel John narrated that immediately after his resurrection Jesus saw the hopelessness and despair that sin would bring to his people when he leaves the world, and out of his mercy he gave them the power to exercise his mercy and forgiveness. Also, what happened to Thomas in today’s Gospel shows that often and in some situations God requires our presence, faith and confession to receive His mercy and gifts. Another evidence of God’s inconceivable mercy to human weakness in the scripture is the case of one of the robbers crucified with Jesus who received his mercy and salvation by just telling Jesus, “Lord remember me in your paradise” (Luke 23:42). This last minute grace supports what he revealed to Saint Faustina that no power of sin and evil is greater than the power of his mercy if sinners can turn to him and take refuge in Divine Mercy. As we celebrate the mercy of God through which we are alive today and share in His numerous gifts, let us always take refuge in his mercy for our soul and the sinful world. Also, Divine mercy Sunday and today’s Gospel challenge us to be disciples and instruments of God’s mercy to others through our acts of Christy, kindness and forgiveness. Over and above, the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday reminds us that the more we show mercy to others the more we attract God’s mercy to ourselves; for as he said: “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Mathew 5:7). Father Sam’s Corner Domingo de la Divina Misericordia Evangelio: Juan 20:19-31 Reflexionando sobre la inconcebible Misericordia de Dios el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia El Domingo de la Divina Misericordia está en la lista de las revelaciones registradas por Santa Faustina. En una de las revelaciones a santa Faustina, nuestro Señor pidió que el primer domingo de Pascua se dedique a celebrar y rezar por su Divina Misericordia. Así que hoy damos gracias a nuestro Señor por su inconcebible misericordia por nosotros, por nuestros pecados y los pecados de nuestros hermanos y hermanas. Por lo tanto, en un día como este, volvemos nuestra mente a todo lo que el Señor ha hecho por nosotros y por el mundo, incluso mientras oramos por su Misericordia sobre nosotros y sobre todo el mundo pecaminoso. En consecuencia, en la revelación de la Divina Misericordia, el Señor pidió a Faustina que le dijera al mundo que tomara su Misericordia como “refugio y refugio para todas las almas, especialmente para los pobres pecadores”. En primer lugar, es la inconcebible misericordia de Dios que miró al mundo pecaminoso y envió a su único Hijo al mundo para que todos pudieran ser salvos. En el Evangelio de hoy, Juan narró que, inmediatamente después de su resurrección, Jesús vio la desesperanza y la desesperación que el pecado traería a su pueblo cuando dejara el mundo, y por su misericordia les dio el poder de ejercer su misericordia y perdón. Además, lo que le sucedió a Tomás en el Evangelio de hoy muestra que a menudo y en algunas situaciones Dios requiere nuestra presencia, fe y confesión para recibir Su misericordia y sus dones. 2. Students for confirmation, their parents and sponsors will have practice this Wednesday April 14, 2021 by 6:30PM. The n the
confirmation is April 18, by 6Pm. All the students for confirmation, their parents and sponsors must be here in the church stitted by
5:15Pm. All parishioners are advised to attend other weekend masses but 6pm mass next Sunday to allow more space in the church for
the students, their families and sponsors.

3. Students for first communion will receive their first communion on April 25, 2021 in all masses that weekend. Parents and their

4. From 3 PM to 4 PM after Sunday there will be Eucharistic Adoration and prayer in honor of the Feast of Divine Mercy in the
church. Prayer will consist of the Chaplet and Litany of Divine Mercy followed by quiet time for personal prayer before the Blessed
Sacrament. The service will conclude with Benediction.
