Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Week 5, Term 2 Dear Families, This coming Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, often referred to as the birthday of the Church. The Holy Spirit descended upon those who had gathered, as a sign of the presence of God in our lives, in the form of the Holy Spirit. May we all be renewed and strengthened by the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. On Monday we will have a whole school mass to celebrate the Parish Feast Day, the feast of Our Lady Help of Christians. We will also celebrate 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia, along with many other parishes and schools around Australia. Families are welcome to join us in the church at 9am on Monday for mass. Today we were very excited to be joined by Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran, Administrator of the Northern Territory. This is an annual event held by the Australian Library and Information Association. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read at the same time in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Issue 4 Scholastic Catalogues have been distributed!

India's official count of coronavirus cases surpassed over 20 million last week and the true figures are believed to be much higher than that. Although India's frontline medics and healthcare workers are working tirelessly to save lives, people across the nation are dying due to shortages in available oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, lack of medical supplies, or the una- vailability of COVID-19 rapid tests. We invite you to attend a fundraiser to support India in its fight to breathe. We are so privileged to live in a city that has barely been touched by the horrors of the pandemic, and therefore, it's our time to step up. Join us for a special screening of the movie "Lion" at 6:30 pm on 3 June 2021, at Casuarina Cinemas. Funds raised from this (as well as the raffle prize on the night - excellent prizes up for grabs - so bring your spare change!) will benefit the Caritas India COVID-19 appeal.
