Race Information General Classification / Yellow Jersey The rider with the lowest aggregate time will be first on general classifications; the rider with the next lowest aggregate time will be second, and so on. The event will use the UCI 1 second rule. Note that there are no time bonuses in the event. Each Grade winner will receive a yellow jersey, and prize money will be paid as follows: A GRADE/ ELITE First 8 places on General Classification B GRADE First 6 places on General Classification C GRADE First 5 places on General Classification. First 3 places OPEN WOMEN on General Classification D GRADE First 5 places on General Classification. There will also be a cash prize for the lead local rider in each grade. KOM There are hill climb points for both the main road race stages - STAGES 2, 3 AND 4 Points will be awarded on each climb as follows: 1st - 3 / 2nd - 2 / 3rd - 1 The rider with the most points will be the winner of the classification. In the event of a tie, a count back will decide the title, with the rider winning the most climbs the winner of the jersey. In event of the classification still tied, the placings will be decided by GC order. Prize money will be paid for the top 3 in each grade, and each grade winner will receive a polka dot jersey. Sprint Ace There are sprint points for all road race stages - STAGES 2, 3 AND 4 Points will be awarded on each sprint as follows: 1st - 3 / 2nd - 2 / 3rd - 1 The rider with the most points will be the winner of the classification. In the event of a tie, a count back will decide the title, with the rider winning the most sprints the winner of the jersey. In event of the classification still tied, the placings will be decided by GC order. Prize money will be paid for the top 3 in each grade and each grade winner will receive a green jersey. Jersey Presentations and Prize Givings A prize giving will be held each day immediately following racing, and will include stage podium, and jersey presentations for each category. In order to reduce the time between racing and prize giving, results used will be preliminary only. Riders leading each classification will be presented with jerseys prior to the commencement of each stage. Riders must wear the jersey awarded to them. No other yellow jerseys may be worn by other riders. The exception to this ruling is the ITT where riders may select to wear their own race skin suit instead of their designated jersey. The final prize giving will be held at Mataprio Hall after racing concludes on the final day, and will include awards for stage placing on the final stage, as well as overall classification awards for each grade. Prize money for each stage and classification prizes will be awarded in cash and only given to the winner unless signed permission is supplied to the event organisers. Payment will be made by electronic transfer for any unclaimed prizes. Only the first 3 places will be called to the podium. Prize winners can collect their envelopes (your prize money) from the event administrative desk. We ask that riders respect our sponsors by attending prize giving, wearing appropriate clothing, following the instructions of the MC and being available for photos.
SuperVision Sports STAGE 1–ITT Friday 10 January Harpers Wool Shed, Ohiti Road, Hastings Course Details Begins south of the entrance gate to Harpers Wool Shed, riders travel along Ohiti Road and make a U turn along Ohiti Road, Riders return to the finish, adjacent to the start. Schedule of events Registration Open Riders start order will be determined and published at the beginning of the tour. All Grades 8 km STAGE 1: ITT START – From 5.30pm Start Order: D Grade C Grade B Grade A Grade If a rider misses their start time, the time awarded will still begin from the appointed start time. Riders who suffer a mechanical incident within 500 metres of the start will be allowed a new start time. Any UCI Approved time trial equipment may be used. Riders must not warm up on the course. There will be no sprint points and/or KOM points awarded during Stage 1. Stage prize giving for each grade will follow the completion of the Stage 1 and will include jersey presentations.
Hawke’s Bay Technologies -STAGE 2 Saturday 11 January Harpers Wool Shed, Ohiti Road, Hastings KOM SPRINT Elevation 1- Elevation is for 1 Lap (B-D Grades) Course Details Riders begin on Ohiti Road outside the venue going north; they travel along Ohiti Road, turn left onto Taihape Road then left onto Crownthorpe Settlement Road, turn right into Matapiro Road (A Grade turn LEFT and complete another lap) and then left into Ohiti Road. The finish is adjacent to the venue. Schedule of events Registration Open 8:30-9:15 am STAGE 2 -HAWKE’S BAY TECHNOLOGIES RACE START TIMES A Grade 9.30am start - 2 laps: 89 km B Grade 9.35am start - 1 lap: 56 km C Grade 9.40am start - 1 lap: 56 km D Grade 9.45am start - 1 lap: 56 km Sprint Primes will be awarded at the finish line only. • A Grade: 89km • B, C & D Grades: 56km KOM Points will be awarded at the top of the first hill on the Taihape Road on each lap: • A Grade: 12.2km & 45km • B, C & D Grades: 12.2km Stage prize giving for each grade will follow the completion of Hawke’s Bay Technologies Stage 2, and will include jersey presentations.
Bay Ford Road Race - STAGE 3 Saturday 11 January Harpers Wool Shed, Ohiti Road, Hastings KOM SPRINT Elevation 2 - Elevation is for 3 Laps Course Details Riders begin on Ohiti Road outside the venue going north; they travel along Ohiti Road, turn left onto Taihape Road then left onto Matapiro Road and left again onto Ohiti Road. The finish is adjacent to the venue. Schedule of events Registration Open 12.30-1:15pm STAGE 3 - BAY FORD ROAD RACE START TIMES A Grade 1.30pm start - 3 laps 84 km B Grade 1.35pm start - 3 laps 84 km C Grade 1.40pm start - 2 laps 56 km D Grade 1.45pm start - 2 laps 56 km Sprint Primes will be awarded at the end of each lap on the start/finish line on Ohiti Road. • A Grade: 27.8km & 55.6km • B, C & D Grades: 27.8km KOM Points will be awarded at the top of the Ohiti Peak on each lap • A Grade: 29.2km & 57.1km • B, C & D Grades: 29.2km Stage prize giving for each grade will follow the completion of Bay Ford Stage 3, and will include jersey presentations.
Bay Audit & Accounting Ltd Road Race - STAGE 4 Sunday 12 January Matapiro Hall, 1288 Matapiro Road, Hastings KOM SPRINT Elevation 3 - Elevation is for 4 Laps Course Details Begin outside the hall and head along Matapiro Road towards Hastings. Riders turn left onto Crownthorpe Settlement Road then left onto Crownthorpe Road and left onto Matapiro Road, past the finish line outside the hall, and complete this circuit the specified number of times.
