3ADMISSION REQUIREM ENTS
The minimum entry requirement for the Higher Certificate and Diploma
programmes is an appropriate National Senior Certificate result, or its
international equivalent.
Prospective students must be legal South African citizens or in the case of
international students, must present a valid passport and study permit.

1. Certified copy of South African ID document/passport
2. Certified copies of National Senior Certificate results (if the NSC
exams have not yet been completed please include a provisional
statement of results).
3. Academic transcripts, certificates or diplomas of any additional
qualifications.

Internation al Stu dents
1. Certified copy of Passport
2. Certified copy of Study Permit
3. Certified copies of School qualification and results (if secondary
schooling is not yet completed please include a provisional statement of
results.
4. Proof of sufficient English literacy (e.g. T0EFL results if English was not
done at school).
5. Please note: International students applying for a study permit must be
aware that it can take up to 3 months to secure a study permit. Please
ensure you apply for your study permit early enough to ensure you have
the study permit in hand before the commencement of the course.
International students will not be allowed entry in the course without a
valid study permit.

a nd s pe cia li se d kn owle dge, together w ith practical skills and compet e nc e.
I n t h e first ye ar of study students are introduced to the fundament al s of
a ud i o t he o ry and wh at be ing a sound engineer is all about. In the s ec on d
yea r, stude nts le a rn advanced recordi ng techniques and in-depth an al ys is
of in str um e nt s. A u dio- visual post-production is taken to another leve l an d
ra d i o pro ducti o n i s deal t w ith i n detai l utilizing our campus radio st at i on
fa c i lit ies . In t h e th ird year, students w ill specialize and start wor ki ng
c l os e ly wi th re al wo r ld si tuati ons, as wel l as studying acoustic prin c ip l es ,
stud io de sign a n d m usi c business pri nciples.
