Mission Park 10 Emily Street, Parry Sound Your Adventure Head over to the Spider Web climber and play one of the games listed below. These games can be played alone or with friends, so there is something for everyone! Make it to the Top On the Spider Web climber, count how many moves it takes you to make it to the very top. Start from the bottom again, and see if you can make it back to the top in as few moves as possible. Looking for another challenge? Try climbing to the top of the structure without using one hand! Now try it again without using one foot! How many moves did it take you to reach the top? Grounders This game works best with 3 or more players. Choose one player to be “it”, and the rest of the players spread out on the Spider Web. The player who is “it” must close their eyes and try to tag the other players while they silently move around on the structure. If the player who is “it” hears someone walking on the ground, they call “Grounders” and open their eyes. If any of the other players are tagged or caught on the ground, they become “it”. Want an even bigger game? Include the other playground in the boundary for your game of Grounders, too! Get Out and Play! ACTIVE MINUTES One of our favourite places to play is the basketball court at Mission Park! It’s great for a game of HORSE or Bump! What is your favourite basketball game to play?

Booth Street Park 1 Booth Street, Parry Sound Your Adventure Head over to the green space at Booth Street Park and start up a game of “Tag”! There are many different versions of “tag”. Here are a few ideas: Freeze Tag One player is it. When others players are tagged, they become frozen in place by standing with their arms out to their sides and their legs spread apart. Frozen players can come back into the game if another player crawls through their legs without being tagged. What Time is it Mr. Wolf? One player is chosen to be Mr. Wolf and stands at one end of the field facing away from the other players. Everyone else lines up at the other end of the field facing Mr. Wolf, and asks “what time is it, Mr. Wolf?” Mr. Wolf can reply in 2 ways: they can say the time (ending in o’clock). The other players must then take as many steps towards Mr. Wolf as the time (ex. 5 o’clock means 5 steps). The other way Mr. Wolf can respond is by saying “lunch time”. When Mr. Wolf says it is “lunch time”, they may turn around and chase the other players back to the starting line. If Mr. Wolf is able to tag another player before they make it back to the starting line, that player will be Mr. Wolf to start the next round. Write down your favourite version of tag below: Get Out and Play! ACTIVE MINUTES Park spaces are important to a healthy community. They give us a place to run, play, meet friends, and have fun!
