DECEMBER 2020 President’s Message It is truly hard to believe that we are facing a new year…already. Though 2020 has had some very trying and diffi- cult moments, we are grateful for the many good things that regularly cross our paths - daily provisions, good health, family ties, and solid friendships. Even as I get older, I look forward to new beginnings and fresh starts. The holidays are upon us! I wish each of you and your family a blessed time together. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year to all! Thank you to Perry and Robin Smith for adorning our entrance signs for the holidays!! Thank you for the opportunity you have given me this year to serve as president of our HOA. As Deryl and I have made many door-to-door visits, we have had the opportunity to meet new long-time residents as well as new homeowners. Thus far this year, we have record of at least twenty new families in our community. I appreciate and thank those of you who have walked beside us this year, whether in serving on the Board, or de- livering newsletters, or volunteering at the pool, or informing us if something seemed unusual. Del Norte/Eastgate is truly a great place to live. Highlights of this year include: • An increase in our annual dues… with full cooperation. This increase has allowed us to remain in the black with a little cushion. • Impressive strides in the technology realm. Ron Zigmund was instrumental in the re-design of our website, in encouraging a better management of our community database, in improving our invoicing process, in setting up a community email and the use of email blasts, and in the implementation of the fob entry system at the pool. • Better communication with homeowners via the website and use of emails. • A clean financial report from our internal audit team. • A very good pool season with 152 memberships, even amidst the pandemic. • Continued improvements in appearance of homes bettered by compliance with community covenants. • Liens have been reduced in number from 15 to 5. All other dues have been paid. • Greenville County purchased one home this year; Del Norte/Eastgate now has 483 homes. A special thank you goes to Beth and Ryan Waring for their graphic design of this newsletter! Also, please take note of our advertisers located on the last page; these companies covered the cost of our newsletters this year. We appreciate their support! I do not plan to serve on the Board in 2021 although I still plan to be involved when possible. Others need to step up and contribute in making Del Norte/ Eastgate even better. Again, thank you to the many folks who have contributed in making 2020 a successful year! - Gerry Paradis ATTENTION - UPCOMING ANNUAL HOA MEETING Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 2pm at the Pavilion (upstairs). We will vote for our 2021 HOA Board members during the meeting.

We recently called GGS and were told that they plan to pick up our green waste on a weekly basis except possibly during leaf season (Oct – Feb) and after storm damage in the county; during these times, the pick-up schedule would be every other week.
