SPECIAL AWARDS Each year Auckland Netball presents special awards to recognise individuals who have contributed significantly to netball at the Centre. Philip Hope - Volunteer of The Year Award Philip Hope was an Auckland Netball Board Member from 2000-2006. Philip was keen to have an annual award that would recognise an individual member for their volunteer efforts over the year from December through to December. It is acknowledged that many individuals’ efforts are the result of several years’ commitment and involvement, so while a nomination is made in a particular year it does however recognise the total contribution. A nomination can include a volunteer, coach, administrator, or official but the individual must be unpaid. The closing date for applications is 3 August 2020. Nomination forms will be sent out closer to the date. The recipient of the award will be acknowledged at the 2020 Club Prizegiving. Service Award The Service Award acknowledges an individual for their contribution to netball with a minimum of five years’ service. Nominations can be made by an affiliated member or club or board member. A Service Award may be conferred for outstanding service to the centre in the following areas: Administration Managing Coaching Umpiring Playing A combination of the above The recipient of the Service Award will be acknowledged at the Annual General Meeting in March 2021. Nomination forms will be sent out closer to the closing date of 30 September 2020. Life Membership The Life Membership Award acknowledges an individual for their contribution to netball with a minimum of fifteen years’ service. The holding of a Service Award is a prerequisite for an Auckland Netball Centre Life Membership Award. It is emphasized that the Life Membership qualification involves more than sustained excellence in routine duties over many years in club work and netball centre work, whether these facts are taken singly or in combination. The recipient of the Life Membership Award will be acknowledged at the Annual General Meeting in March 2021. Nomination forms will be sent out closer to the closing date of 30 September 2020.
