PEACH PUBLIC LIBRARIES 2021 SUMMER READING PROGRAM June 1, 2021 – July 30, 2021 Sign Up begins Monday, May 24, 2021 Peach Public Libraries will be closed Monday, May 31, 2021 in observance of Memorial Day and Saturday, July 03, 2021 in observance of Independence Day.
Children who sign up for the Summer Reading Program will receive a reading log to record titles of books read each week. Track your reading progress and receive a small prize each week. Return your final reading logs by Friday, July 23, 2021. Pick up your 2021 Summer Reading Certificate between Monday, July 26, 2021 and Friday, July 30, 2021. Toddlers and Preschoolers (Ages 1 year to 5 years old) Tuesdays at 11:00 AM at Thomas Public Library Wednesdays at 11:00 AM at Byron Public Library WEEKLY STORYTIME TOPICS 06/01 - What is a Veterinarian? : We will make our own Vet lab coat this week. 06/08 - Dog Checkup: You may bring a stuffed animal dog for a checkup. 06/15 - Bird Checkup: You may bring a toy bird for a checkup. 06/22 - Reptile Checkup: You may bring a toy lizard, snake or turtle for a checkup. 06/29 - Cat Checkup: You may bring a stuffed animal cat for a checkup. 07/06 - Animals from the Aquarium: You may bring an aquatic animal toy for a checkup. 07/13 - Animals from the Farm: You may bring a farm animal toy for a checkup. 07/20 - Animals from the Zoo: You may bring a zoo animal toy for a checkup. FAMILY PROGRAMMING Peach Public Libraries will host limited group programs this year. Princess Visit Princess Belle will visit the libraries to read one of her favorite books to us. Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite prince or princess for pictures at the end of the program. Princess Belle will visit the Byron Public Library on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM and the Thomas Public Library on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Veterinarian Visit Come meet a local Veterinarian as he tells us a little about his job as an animal doctor. What’s the smallest animal the Vet has treated? What’s the biggest? The scariest? The Veterinarian will visit the Libraries in early July. The dates and times will be announced later on in June.
