Show held at: Gloucester County 4-H Fairgrounds 275 Bridgeton Pike Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 Please note that this show is held during the Gloucester County 4-H Fair. Parking is $10 (good for the entire fair). If you arrive prior to the opening of fair you may drive to the rabbit barn to drop off your animals, but must relocate your vehicle to the general parking area for the duration of the day. SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS This show is open to 4-H members only. Cloverbud members in grades K-3 may exhibit, but are not competitive. All Cloverbuds 4-H members will receive comments on their animals and a participation gift. Entry fees are $4.00 per animal if received by the deadline. $5.00 per animal day of show. There will be a $25.00 fee for bounced checks. Please make all checks payable to the Gloucester County 4-H Rabbit and Small Animal Clubs. There will be no refund of entry fees for animals which are scratched from the show. Any exhibitor showing an animal that requires a permit, must submit a copy of the permit with entry forms. To verify the need for a permit, please visit http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/permreq.htm. Any animal suspected of having a health problem by a judge, club leader, or fair officials must be removed from the show/ display area immediately and removed from the grounds in a reasonable amount of time. Rabbits must be legibly tattooed or have an identifying number in sharpie marker in the left ear. Cavies must be ear tagged or have the entry number clearly written on tape and fastened to the left ear. Small Animals must have the entry number written on tape and attached to ear or carrier.
If the weather is extremely hot, the show committee recommends packing frozen ice bottles, remaining with the animals to monitor their condition and if necessary, removing them from the show grounds to a cooler environment. Animals are to be carried to the show table by a 4-H member, not a parent or another adult. Exhibitors are responsible for their own exhibits, including grooming and carrying to and from tables. All entries will receive Danish ribbons. Best/Reserve of Breed/Class winners will receive rosettes and awards. All species will be judged according to the latest standards. Judge's decisions are FINAL! This is a carrying cage show. Cages should have solid bottoms. All animals must be adequately caged with access to food and water. All exhibitors are responsible for their own equipment and clean up. EXHIBITORS ARE EXPECTED TO LEAVE THEIR AREA CLEAN AND FREE OF DEBRIS. Class Definitions: RABBIT: Buck (male) Doe (female) Junior– 3-6 months old Intermediate– 6-8 months old which is included on ONLY the following breeds: American, Giant Angora, Beveren, Blanc De Hotot, Californian, Champagne D’Argent, Checkered Giant, American Chinchilla, Giant Chinchilla, Cinnamon, Crème D’Argent, Flemish Giant, English Lop, French Lop, New Zealand, Palomino, Satin, Silver Fox Senior– 6 months & over for breeds with Jr. and Senior classes 8 months & over for breeds which include Intermediate classes CAVY: Boar (male) Sow (female) Junior– up to 4 months of age, minimum weight 12 ounces; MAXIMUM weight 22 ounces Intermediate– up to 6 months of age or weight over 22 ounces; MAXIMUM weight 32 ounces Senior– over 6 months of age or 32 ounces SMALL ANIMAL: Male or Female (no age classifications) The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth, grades K-13, on an age appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
