Esta es quizá una de las posturas más significativas
en cuanto que nos remite directamente a la libertad
gloriosa de los hijos e hijas de Dios mediante el
sacramento del Bautismo. Son los hombres y mujeres
libres quienes están de pie; es la Iglesia peregrina, que
camina por este mundo y va de camino al Padre, a su
principio y fin; es el pueblo sacerdotal, que como
comunidad sacerdotal permanece de pie en su oración; es
el pueblo de Dios que ofrece un sacrificio de alabanza y
que por ello está de pie, dispuesto no sólo a celebrar esa
Nueva Alianza, sino a permanecer de pie. En última
instancia, estar de pie, es signo de resurrección, por ello
es que ya no somos esclavos, sino libres. Es así que por
medio del Bautismo nos hacemos compañeros de un
Reino que prescinde de las armas y la violencia y que
como elemento principal tiene la proclamación de la
Buena Nueva. Por la misma razón, confesamos nuestras
culpas de pie, para que Dios nos reivindique en el
perdón; cantamos el himno del Gloria, proclamamos el
Credo, presentamos nuestras ofrendas, oramos el

Consecration to St. Joseph 2021: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father

What is a Consecration?
Consecration means “to make holy.” Holiness, in turn, refers to the separation of something from the common, worldly, or
profane. While all Christians are to be separate from the world (2 Cor. 6:17), consecration also includes the idea of being set
aside for sacred use.
Why Consecration to St. Joseph?
When one makes an act of consecration to a saint, it is made ultimately to God through the help of the saint. We know that
Joseph was a lowly carpenter, betrothed to Mary, a just man, ever ready to carry out God’s will. After Mary, the Mother of
God, no saint is mentioned more frequently in the papal magisterium than Joseph, her spouse. Jesus and Mary entrusted
themselves entirely to the care and protection of St. Joseph as the head of the Holy Family. Consecrating oneself to St. Joseph
is an act of entrustment to his fatherly care, protection, and guidance. It basically means acknowledging that as Jesus is your
spiritual brother, and Mary your mother, Joseph is your spiritual father. This is also the Year of St. Joseph, declared by Pope
Francis in the encyclic Patris Corde.
What is the purpose of the Consecration to St. Joseph?
The goal of this consecration is to imitate St. Joseph’s virtue, example, and closeness with Christ. Of course, our goal in all
things is to become closer to Jesus! Similar to the way in which many who have drawn closer to Mary are in turn brought
closer to Jesus, those who dedicate themselves to St. Joseph will find themselves in a deeper relationship with the Son of God.
How is this Consecration accomplished?
The Consecration to St. Joseph emulates the tried-and-true preparation method employed by St. Louis de Montfort in his
Marian consecration, highlighting many of St. Joseph’s titles, privileges, and heroic virtues. The Consecration to St. Joseph is
based on the long tradition of devotion of our Catholic Church to St. Joseph and on a book written by Fr. Donald Calloway,
MIC. This program of consecration to St. Joseph brings to life the wonders, the power, and the ceaseless love of St. Joseph,
Universal Patron of the Church and the Terror of Demons.
What is the duration of the Consecration process?
The Consecration to St. Joseph program of preparation takes 33 days. We will always choose a day that coincides with a
liturgical feast of St. Joseph. The first Consecration cohort will start on February 15th, 2021 ending on March 19th, 2021.
What is the methodology of the Consecration course?
The Consecration to St. Joseph preparation needs a daily personal time and six group virtual meetings. There will be a course
leader who will set up six virtual meetings over a period of six weeks.
• In your personal work, you will spend about 20-30 minutes a day on a short exposition on one of the invocations in the
powerful Litany of St. Joseph, followed by a reading on St. Joseph, concluding with the recitation of the Litany of St.
Joseph.
• Each Virtual group meetings will last about 90-120 minutes and they will be conducted on the application Google Meet.
There will be discussion questions to guide every session.
What is the schedule for the Consecration preparation program?
The Consecration to St. Joseph program requires virtual and presential group meetings on the following dates:
1. First virtual group meeting Monday, February 15, 2021 (at 7:00 pm)
2. Second virtual group meeting Monday, February 22, 2021(at 7:00 pm)
3. Third virtual group meeting Monday, March 1, 2021 (at 7:00 pm)
4. Fourth virtual group meeting Monday, March 8, 2021 (at 7:00 pm)
5. Fifth virtual group meeting Thursday, March 11, 2021 (at 7:00 pm)
6. Sixth virtual group meeting Monday, March 15, 2021 (at 7:00 pm)
Consecration Rehearsal (Presential) Friday, March 19, 2021 (at 6:30 pm)
CONSECRATION DAY (Presential) FRIDAY, MARCH 19, 2021 (at 7:30pm)
In which language will be conducted the Consecration course?
The Consecration to St. Joseph preparation program will be offered both in English and Spanish.
What technical requirements do I need for participating in the Consecration program?
You just need:
• Any smart device (smart phone, tablet, laptop, personal computer, desk computer) with camara and audio functioning
properly.
• A personal email account.
• To download the application GOOGLE MEET on your smart device. Church will provide basic training for new users of
Google Meet, if needed. Please schedule your appointment in advance.
• Wi-Fi or Data connection available and working in your smart device.
Is there a family rate or a discount for family members?
For each participant, it is being asked a donation of $45 (includes book program, ceremony, ornaments and other materials).
For family members, there is only a discount of $15. For any additional member who wants to register the fee is $30, but they
will have to share the same book.

¿Qué es una Consagración?
Consagración significa "santificar". La santidad, a su vez, se refiere a la separación de algo de lo común, mundano o profano.
Si bien todos los cristianos debemos estar separados del mundo (2 Cor. 6:17), la consagración también incluye la idea de ser
apartados para uso sagrado.
¿Por qué consagrarse a San José?
Cuando uno hace un acto de consagración a un santo, en última instancia se está consagrando a Dios con la ayuda del santo.
Sabemos que José era un humilde carpintero, comprometido con María, un hombre justo, siempre dispuesto a llevar a cabo la
voluntad de Dios. Después de María, la Madre de Dios, ningún santo es mencionado con más frecuencia, en el magisterio
papal, que José, su esposo. Jesús y María se encomendaron enteramente al cuidado y protección de San José como cabeza de
la Sagrada Familia. Consagrarse a San José es un acto de entrega a su cuidado, protección y guía paternal. Básicamente
significa reconocer que como Jesús es tu hermano espiritual y María tu madre, José es tu padre espiritual. Este es también el
Año de San José, declarado por el Papa Francisco en la encíclica Patris Corde.

En cuál idioma será realizado el curso de Consagración?
El programa de preparación a la Consagración a San José será realizado en inglés y español.
¿Cuáles requerimientos técnicos necesito para participar en el programa de Consagración?
Solamente se necesita:
• Algún dispositivo inteligente (teléfono inteligente, tableta, computador personal, computador de escritorio) con cámara y
audio que funcionen adecuadamente.
• Una cuenta de correo electrónico personal.
• Descargar la aplicación GOOGLE MEET en su dispositivo inteligente. La Iglesia ofrecerá entrenamiento básico para
aquellos que necesiten aprender cómo usar Google Meet. Por favor, programe su cita con antelación.
• Conexión Wi-Fi o Datos disponibles y funcionando en su dispositivo inteligente.
¿Hay un descuento para familias?
Por cada participante se solicita una donación de $45 (incluye libro guía, ceremonia, adornos y otros materiales). Para las
familias, solo hay un descuento de $15. Para cualquier miembro adicional que desee registrarse, la tarifa es de $30 pero
tendrán que compartir el mismo libro.

FEAST OF FAITH
The Gloria (2)
The Gloria is a rejoicing prayer, an exclamation of
praise. It begins with the song of the angels at the
announcement of the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:14), a
heavenly burst of praise for God’s loving action in the
world. But in the Gloria, the song goes on, leaping, as it
were, from height to height, with every kind of praise,
blessing, adoration, glory, and thanksgiving.
We begin by thanking and praising God the Father;
then we turn our gaze to Christ, the Lamb of God. The
paschal mystery of Christ’s suffering, death, and
resurrection is found here, at the heart of this prayer,
which descends to the depths with Christ, but then rises
with him to the heavens, where he is seated at the
Father’s right hand. The Gloria ends with a series of
acclamations to Christ, emphasizing over and over that
he “alone” is the Holy One, the Lord, the Most High,
truly God, with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Our
prayer of praise ends where it began, in the “glory of
God the Father.” The Gloria, with its arc leading us from
the glory of God to the suffering of Christ and again to
glory, is the pattern of the Mass itself. At the center of all
