Our Lady of Guadalupe School in the MSJ Dominican Tradition December 14, 2022 Issue 20 Dearest OLG Families, Little Drummer Dude, live at 7PM! Tonight we bring back our in person Christmas Program after not being able to have once since 2019. There is nothing better than the sound of children singing, and as Alexis prayed with us at morning assembly, they sing for Jesus. Thank you, Ms. Firmin for directing our students in this production. Thank you to Ms. Estacio, Ms. Govea, and Mr. Baun for their assistant with directing the actors as well. After dropping off your students in their classrooms at 6:30, head on over the Parish Center for this amazing production. Here’s a little sneak peak at our rehearsal today. How would you like to win a pair of AirPods 3rd Generation, an iPad 10th Generation, or an Air Tag? 8th graders are hosting a raffle to win these amazing items. Tickets are available in the front office or from any 8th grade parent. Tickets are $5 each. On Monday, I decided to take the day from being principal and left the school in the hands of our Principal for the Day, Valentina Guerrero. Elye Florez was named VP of the day. They observed classrooms, made announcements, left notes for teachers, and enjoyed lunch in the staff room. Thanks for putting in a hard days work! “Don’t think of an elephant”... Do you now have a picture of an elephant in your mind? I came across this short video of Simon Sinek talking about negative vs positive thinking and it has really sat with me for some time now, so I wanted to share it with you. If you have 3 minutes, take a listen. It’s put a lot into perspective for me as a principal, as a teacher, and as a mom. More so, it’s made me think about the importance of self-talk being positive as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W05FYkqv7hM See you tonight! God Bless,Shannon Bellison
