See the placement testing page on the NCC website for details. https://norwalk.edu/placement-testing After submitting SAT/ACT scores or completing the NCC placement test, you will receive registration instructions. * The Mathematics Department strongly suggests that you review your math skills before taking the test. Most students must take a placement test*—a computerized skills assessment of reading comprehension, writing and mathematics abilities. Students who have taken any ESL coursework in high school (grades 9-12) must also take the ESL test. The results will provide you and your NCC advisor with the information needed to place you in courses appropriate to your educational back- ground and ability. To sign up for a placement test, you must first submit an application to NCC, with a $20 fee, and receive your NCC Banner ID number. Testing is by appointment only, once you have received your Banner ID number. Schedule your test at www. norwalk.edu/ placement-testing. Allow yourself plenty of time to take the test so that you can do your best. To view your placement test results, log into your Student Account. Click on the “Banner Self- Service” link, the “Registration/Schedule Tab,” “Items That May Prevent Registration,” and “Check Placement Test Recommend- ations.” If you have taken the ESL Test, you should also receive an email from the ESL Division. 4 www.norwalk.edu
