LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Happy Summer Residents! The summer of 2022 will not only bring day camps and sunshine, but also the Grand Re-Opening of the long- awaited Miracle League Playground. As you may have noticed, Northampton Township Parks and Recreation and The Miracle League have been hard at work upgrading the Municipal Park on Hatboro Road. The Miracle League Playground, lovingly referred to in the past as the “blue” playground has been re-designed so it is all-inclusive and fun for everyone regardless of ability! The pictures below, as well as the front cover, show some of the hard-working volunteers who helped assemble playground equipment at the April 30 Community Build. It was a beautiful day with volunteers dedicated to helping to make our neighborhood park a better and brighter one where everyone can play! The playground opening is on schedule. Watch for details about our grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony! I look forward to seeing you there. The schedule for the 300th anniversary of Northampton Township is complete. The Parks and Recreation Staff cannot WAIT to see our residents enjoy all that the committee has planned! There are several activities taking place this summer to kick off the celebration! Don’t miss the 5/22 Bike Rodeo, 6/14 Flag Day Ceremony and Nike Missile Site Exhibit, 6/21 Fabric Dyes and Loom Weaving or the Wool Spinning on 7/26! You can also enjoy the summer long reading challenge at the library and the Northampton Township Parks and Recreation 2022 Sights and Sound of Summer Series. It is a summer filled with unique experiences all leading up to our big celebration in September. Are you just realizing school is out in the next few weeks and your child doesn’t have a summer camp to enjoy yet! Have no fear, the Parks and Recreation Team is here! Check out the first pages of this brochure to view our many week-long specialty camps – whether your child is the next Broadway star, Science Explorer or 76ers team member, or anything else in between, we have you covered! If you are just looking to make a splash this summer and lay by the pool, there are still a limited amount of pool memberships available! On behalf of the entire Parks and Recreation Department, we wish you all a happy and safe summer full of laughter and memories! We can’t wait to see you this summer! Be Well! Stay Safe!
