Laurieton Lakeside Aged Care Residence - June 2021 A NOTE FROM KRISTY POTTS — FACILITY MANAGER Welcome to June and we welcome winter. One I hope that will be short. It’s been a cool start and the nights a little chilly. If headed outside, please make sure you are rugged up. It’s been a whirlwind month at Lakeside! We welcome Catherine Anderson as our New Director of Nursing. She comes to us with many years experience in a diverse range of positions within Aged Care and community over the years. Thankyou for everyone’s support and patience during the roll out of the Covid vaccination program. We are proud to report that 89.42% ( 93) consumers have had their covid 19 vaccina- tions ( dose 1 and 2) during our covid clinic held in May. We are putting a call out for a chair person for our resident and relative meetings. We are hoping to engage more interest in these meetings for better consumer satisfaction and to improve the service we provide. Please see Donna or Cassy to register your interest for discussion at the June Meeting. Don’t forget our partnership in care program is up and running. Partnership in care is a person who has a close and continuing relationship with their consumer - this could be a family member, a loved one , a friend or a representative. This person is then recognised and may be involved in the delivery of services, and provide day to day care to the resident. For more information, please contact our Director of Nursing, Catherine Anderson. We are currently watching the Victorian Covid situation unfold and will continue to update daily as restrictions from entry to our Centre unfold. It’s business as usual and we continue checking hotspots daily. Just a reminder to stay home and refrain from visiting if you are unwell or have been to a hotspot location. If unsure, call the facility and speak with reception who can inform you of the most up to date information. Take care and stay warm, Kristy x 3
