THE OPPORTUNITY Support the Inaugural NASCA NAIDOC Youth Conference and Gala Awards NASCA is pleased to present this proposal for your review. We look forward to partnering with you to create the first ever NAIDOC Youth Conference and Gala Awards. Based on the 2019 NAIDOC theme of “Voice, Treaty, Truth”, the inaugural NASCA NAIDOC Youth Conference and Gala Awards will focus on “Voice” and will be an opportunity to bring together NASCA students from our 7 Sydney schools in an all-day conference environment where they will hear from prominent Indigenous speakers. Following the Conference, high achieving students will be recognised and rewarded at the Gala Awards where we will be joined by their families, funders, corporate partners and key government and community stakeholders. The event will be held prior to NAIDOC week on Friday 5th of July 2019. NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. This event is a great opportunity to participate and celebrate in NAIDOC Week to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
