Recruitment procedure 2021
TERMS OF RECRUITMENT

    Candidates holding French qualifications
       •       Must have passed a first Bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS or equivalent)
               OR
       •       Must have passed a 2-year vocational diploma or equivalent (120 ECTS or equivalent) with 2 to 5 years’
               professional experience in the hospitality-catering industry
       •       For candidates holding a qualification requiring 4 years’ study after the baccalaureate (240 ECTS), the
               admissions panel will decide, on the basis of the courses studied and the results obtained, whether the
               candidate can be exempted from the first part of the MSc, involving acquisition of fundamental knowledge.

    Candidates holding qualifications from other countries
       •       Must have passed an overseas qualification equivalent to three years in higher education, i.e. 180 ECTS
               OR
       •       Must have passed a qualification equivalent to two years’ study after the baccalaureate or worth 120 ECTS
               and must have 2 to 5 years’ professional experience in the hospitality-catering industry

In addition, if you choose the bilingual course (French/English) and if you are not a native French speaker, you must
provide a document certifying that you have achieved level B2 in French on the TEF (Test d’Evaluation du Français) or
the DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française).

                 As it will take around 4 months to obtain the documents and sit the TEF, we recommend that you
                                    apply for it as soon as you have made your preliminary enrolment.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
From Tuesday 17 November 2020 at 10 am, you can apply for the course that you want directly on our Internet site:
www.ferrandi-paris.fr.

You will receive acknowledgement of your application and an access code to track its progress. You will receive an
email with an application form.

This application form, fully completed, must be uploaded to the application platform.

    •     You should upload together, in a first same PDF file, your application form, a cover letter and a detailed CV.

    •     In a second same PDF file, you should upload your identity card or a passport and a “titre de séjour” for
          international students.

    •     In a third same PDF file, you should upload your grades.

    •     In a fourth same PDF file, you should upload any other document that might support your application
          (references, GMAT, etc.).

    •     You will also upload the confirmation of payment of the non-refundable application fees (not applicable to
          students receiving grant-aid). In the absence of this confirmation, your application will not be processed.

For students receiving grant aid in 2020-2021 a certificate of grant aid from the Department for Education for students
will be asked.

No candidate can register for admission on more than three successive occasions, whichever option they choose.

    Since candidates are registered for recruitment tests in the order that we receive applications, you are advised to

SELECTION OF APPLICATIONS AND ORGANISATION OF ADMISSION
TESTS

        Selection of applications
The admissions panel will accept candidates whose academic record indicates their ability to continue their education at
a higher level. The panel can refuse to admit candidates:

        •       Whose application is incomplete
        •       Whose academic record and/or professional experience suggest that they may be unsuitable
        •       Who have been unable to provide proof of the equivalence of their years of study.
The eligibility of candidates is determined after examination of their application.

After your application has been examined, you will receive an email informing you of the outcome.

        Admission tests
The objective of these tests is to evaluate the candidate’s open-mindedness, adaptability, personal and career
objectives and their ability to make the most of the course in order to train themselves for the appropriate careers. Some
or all of the tests may be conducted in English.

They will be conducted differently depending on the candidate’s geographical location.

For candidates in mainland France

Eligible candidates must present their test notification and proof of identity at tests. The selection tests are held at
FERRANDI Paris over half a day and consist of three parts:

The personal motivation interviews will be carried out face-to-face by a member of the teaching staff or an associated
professional and a member of the programme team who will act as panel Chairperson.

The objective of the English written test is to evaluate the candidate’s ability to write a professional document in English.

The list of dates when tests are held is available on our Internet site and is regularly updated.

For candidates who are not in mainland France

Eligible candidates will be required to undergo the following:

The personal motivation interviews will be carried out using Skype by a member of the teaching staff or an associated
professional and a member of the programme team who will act as panel Chairperson.

       Admission

After the tests associated with each recruitment session, the admission panel draws up an initial list of admitted
candidates. The number of candidates admitted per session is determined by the panel depending on the required
academic standard. The panel then decides upon a complementary list of candidates who may possibly be invited to
join the course, depending on their ranking.

Admission is only valid for the academic year that follows the recruitment session. However, in exceptional
circumstances, an admitted candidate may defer their admission until the following year. The candidate must explain the
reasons for their request, no later than 15 June 2021, to the programme director who will decide whether to accept the
request.

Candidates who are not admitted may re-apply for the entry tests the following year. In this case, they must submit a
new application form.

PUBLICATION OF RESULTS AND CONFIRMATION OF ADMISSION
 The results will be available on our website within two weeks of the recruitment sessions. At the same time, you will
 receive an email informing you of the panel’s decision (accepted, waiting list, rejected)

 In order to validate their enrolment, admitted candidates must:

       Return, at the latest two weeks after notification of admission, i.e. by the date indicated in the email, the
       signed undertaking to pay
       Pay a deposit of €7,500
                                                                                 Failure to respond within the given deadline
                                                                                 will lead to your enrolment being cancelled.

START OF ACADEMIC YEAR
The school year starts on September 2021

WORK PLACEMENTS IN FRANCE AND OVERSEAS
The school helps students to find placements in France and abroad through its network of business partners.

NON-REFUNDABLE ADMINISTRATIVE FEES: €100
Non-refundable application fees of €100 must be paid online at the following address:

Failure to pay this fee means that your application will not be processed.

TUITION FEES
The tuition fees for the Master of Science’s degree are €25,000

This amount includes:
       •       Course tuition costs
       •       The study trip (flights and accommodation)
       •       The work placement
       •       Membership of the alumni organisation

This amount does not include:
       •       Cost of meals (in France or abroad)
       •       Payment of the CVEC (Contribution to Student and Campus life)

PAYMENT METHODS
A deposit of €7,500 on enrolment (including where candidates defer the start of the course for a year), non-refundable
unless the candidate fails their undergraduate degree or equivalent.

Payment of the remaining amount of €17,500 for the academic year:

       •       In one payment by 30 August 2021 at the latest
               OR
       •       By direct debit spread over 10 monthly payments from 15 November 2021 to 15 August 2022. This option
               incurs a surcharge of €300.

Once a student has started the course, the full amount of the tuition fees is due (€25,000), even if the student leaves
during the academic year.

Refusal to grant a visa to foreign candidates

The deposit can be reimbursed if the French Consulate refuses to grant a visa. The candidate must provide evidence of
this refusal before we can make the reimbursement. This reimbursement does not apply if the visa application is made
late or if the candidate fails to respect the visa application procedure.

Conditions with respect to postponement

If a student for whom a one-year postponement has been accepted is unable to take up his or her place at the start of
the following academic year, the whole of the deposit will be retained and no reimbursement will be made.

Exceptions and force majeure

Exceptions to the abovementioned conditions relating to postponement and withdrawal may be made at the discretion of
the FERRANDI management team in cases of force majeure or other unforeseen circumstances.

The school has negociated preferential rates with partner banks. .

more information on available financial aids.
