PhD or DPhil = Doctor of Philosophy, at least 3 years
MPhil = Master of Philosophy, an advanced postgrad research degree, can serve
as provisional enrollment for a PhD, typically completed in 2 years
MBA = Master of Business Administration, A 15 month+ program, depending on
the institution
MFin = Master of Finance, a 1-year taught Master’s
MSc = Master of Science, a 1-year taught Master’s
MASt = Master of Advanced Study, a 1-year taught Master’s in Math or Physics
MLitt = Master of Letters, Awarded by a select few British & Irish universities, a
1-year taught Master’s. Subjects include: Arts, Divinity, Fine Art, Humanities, or
Social Sciences
