Our mission At Notpla we are on a mission to make packaging disappear A sustainable packaging start-up at the forefront of creating a new future. We are on a mission to replace conventional food packaging by pioneering the use of seaweed as an alternative to single-use plastic.
Our solution We’ve developed three food-specific product lines that solve the plastic problem: Notpla Sachets Made from seaweed and plants Easily compostable at home Degrade naturally and completely sustainable Notpla Film Notpla Coating
Our packaging is made from sustainably-sourced seaweed; one of nature’s most renewable resources* We only use seaweed is sourced from responsible, environmentally-conscious suppliers
Our method Why we use seaweed • Grows rapidly, is globally abundant and readily available • Doesn’t compete with food crops for land • Doesn’t need fresh water or fertiliser to grow • Actively sequesters CO2 and de-acidifies the oceans
Our difference PLA and other bioplastics require specific recycling It takes less than six weeks for our pathways and specialised industrial composting packaging to completely decompose in a equipment to degrade.
