Classification of
        Grade Levels
Freshman = 0-5
Sophomore = 5.5-11.5
Junior = 12-18.5
Senior = 19+
Student classification determines which class meeting
a student attends and activities in which he or she may
participate. A student is classified according to the
number of credits successfully completed. This is
decided by the number of credits on file at the
beginning of each school year.
Calculation of students’ official class rank is
           governed by Policy EIC (Local). For the
           purposes of class ranking, semester grades are
           weighted as follows:

Course Selection

Students will be able to make course selections:
  • January 19th through February 5th (11:59 PM)
  • Students can make course selections at anytime within this time frame.
  • Counselors will complete course verification once the window closes:
       • Complete course verification for incoming 9th graders at LJH
       • Complete course verification for all current 9th – 11th at LCHS
ENTERING CLASSES
• Courses will be entered into Skyward (student portal).
    • You can’t access course selection on the (parent portal)

• Once you log into your Skyward account your classes will already
  be populated through the “Career Plan” link. Courses are pre-
  populated at the academic level. You will need to adjust the
  level if needed (ex: PAP, AP, or Dual)

Choose 7 courses and 2 alternative courses

 First Choose:
 •   4 core courses – English, Math, Science, & Social Studies (select level: academic, PAP or AP).
 •   Endorsement course
 •   LOTE (Foreign Language), or additional elective
 •   Fine Art or additional elective
 •   Physical Education or a sport of choice

selecting your classes.
• In the catalog you will find:
    •   explanation of the levels offered for various courses (pgs. 1-2)
    •   dual credit course information (pgs. 2-3)
    •   multipliers and grade weights explained (p. 4)
    •   graduation requirements (pgs. 9-10)
    •   endorsement information (pgs. 14-18)
    •   info on specific course content & the required pre-requisites for all
        courses offered in high school and dual credit (pgs. 21-72)
