PSK HIGHEST CUMULATIVE GPA • Winner: Brother Liam Boyd • Junior, Mechanical Engineering • Hometown: Media, PA • In his own words: Hello Brothers! Allow me to introduce myself a little more. I am a junior in mechanical engineering. Both of my parents attended Penn State in the 80’s which led to me always wanting to study engineering here. Funny enough, my father was actually a member of Theta Chi and lived right next door! I came to Penn State not knowing whether I wanted to join a fraternity or not, but after spending the first semester here on campus I knew that joining a brotherhood such as this one would not only enhance my college experience but be an experience that would continue to pay off through my entire lifetime. After finding Phi Sigma Kappa during rush, I knew that this was the brotherhood I belonged in. Ever since then I have never been happier. I appreciate everything this chapter has done for me and have paid it back through my three semesters as risk chair, the past two holding the head chair position. Regardless of whether I have the honor of winning this award or not I greatly appreciate the opportunity to apply! Damn Proud!
PSK SECOND HIGHEST GPA • Winner: Brother Hayden Angello • Junior, Cyber Security Analytics and Operations • Hometown: Hershey, PA • In his own words: I believe that I am a worthy candidate to receive the Phi Sigma Kappa Solicitation of Scholarship Award. During my time as a brother of Phi Sigma Kappa since Spring 2019, I have held multiple positions in the house such as head rush chairman, rush chairman, head philanthropy chairman and philanthropy chairman, T-shirt chair for two semesters, and social media chair for four semesters. While holding these positions, I have maintained above a 3.5 GPA, which has put me on the Dean’s list every semester. Working hard and getting my job done is something I live by and something that my brothers at Phi Sigma Kappa push me to want to do. In the future I plan to be an ethical hacker, which entails helping to stop malicious hackers by regaining control of breached systems. I also aspire to be a music producer as well. I have a passion to create things as well as help people, and a life where I could do both is what I plan to accomplish.
