Mission Statement • We want to support the Juniors (until 18 years) of The National Golf Brussels in their development as social, sportive and engaged golfers of tomorrow. • We will do so by creating a durable environment that provides our Juniors with a high-level golf education, in respect of the rules and etiquette of our sport, with attention to ethical and medical values. • We will provide this environment to both the competitive and the recreative golfers, in an environment where friendship and club-spirt play an important role.

Looking back 2018 • Interclubs U18 • April 9th tot 13th 2018 • First 2 days: qualification in stroke play • Last 3 days: match play • We narrowly missed the qualification • Congrats to Alexandre D., Alexandre W., Jarno, Iker, Alex G. and Eduardo
Looking back 2018 • What went well • First Boys U18 Interclub Team • First Sponsor: Panini Belgium • Start of our Junior Discovery and Challenge Competitions • First participation to the Winter Club Competition (group of 4 clubs – Started in december) • Very large number of Juniors (on paper)
Looking back 2018 • What can be improved • Low participation in competitions at The National (33%) • Low percentage of participants to the Academy (33%) • High percentage of Juniors without GVB / BAG (23%) • Many Juniors with a handicap between 30 and 54 (50%) • Few Juniors have a handicap under 10 (11%) • Juniors Committe did not really kicked-off • No event organised for Juniors

Ambitions 2019 • Objectives • GOLF = FUN • To improve friendship through work by age categories • To get all Juniors ASAP on the course • To have active participation to the Academy and to improve the handicaps • To start a “Futures” team for the Juniors with a handicap under 9.4 hcp • To have a unique yearly fee which Objectives • includes access to the Academy (equal pportunity) • The Juniors are the future of our club!

Activities 2019 • We will organize • Training through our Golf Academy (theory, practical, physical training) • Junior “Stages” • Competitions for Juniors • Trainings and examinations for GVB / BAG + “baanpermissie” • Social Activities • We will support our Juniors to participate to competitions • At regional and national level • In team and / or individual
Groups & Days 2019 Groups Wednesday Saturday U12 (born in 2007 and after) 13:30 – 14:30 09:30 – 10:30 U16 (born in 2003 to 2006) 14:30 – 15:30 10:30 – 11:30 U18 (born in 2001 and 2002) 15:30 – 16:30 11:30 – 12:30 Dates 1st half February March April May June Wednesday 20, 27 13, 20, 27 3, 24 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 5, 12 Saturday 23 16, 23, 30 27 4, 11, 18, 25 1, 8, 15 • In function of his/her golf level a Junior might join a group of older players, upon golfpro’s recommandation. • It is not mandatory to attend the trainings on both days, but normally the more your train, the better you get. • No registration needed : every junior is welcome for each training of his/her group
Best practices • Be on time at the driving range (trainings do not start in the parking) • Warm-up 15 minutes before the training starts (putting green for instance) • Wear equipment according to the weather: • By cold: gloves, warm cap • By rain: rain clothes • By sun: cap, solar cream + something to drink • Bring your own tees for driver & woods • The club will book one or two tee-times just after the training to allow you to practice on the course (compact or championship) with your friends
Stages 2019 • Will be organized during school holidays • Open to all Juniors born between 2001 & 2009 • Boys and Girls • Open to Juniors from other golf clubs • Dates (tbc) • April 15th to 19th • July 1st to 5th • Agust 19th to 23rd • Price: 250€ per week including warm lunch • Registration: club Secretary Jan-Pieter Vanfraechem (info@thenational.be or +32 2 767 39 69)
Competitions: Juniors Only • Winterclub: February 9th (Mont-Garni), March 16th (Waterloo), March 24th? (final in Latem) • U18 Interclubs for Boys and Girls from April 8th to 12th in Waregem • Juniors Discovery • Played on 9 holes for handicaps >36 • 7 dates (27/4, 18/5, 29/6, 27/7, 24/8, 22/9, 20/10) • On championship course with new permanent advanced tees • Juniors Challenge for handicaps
Competitions with adults • Club Championship for Men and Women: Saturday May 25th • All club competitons unless indicated otherwise • Rookies for hcp 28.5 to 37 (9 holes on the Championship Course) • Juniors Rabbits for > 36 handicap (12 holes on the Compact Course) • Check all dates and times and register on I-Golf.
Junior Interclubs • Date: April 8th to 12th Year Max. HCP Boys Max. HCP Girls • First 2 days: Qualification 2001-2002 14.4 18.4 • Last 3 days: Match Play 2003-2004 18.4 24.4 • Place: Waregem Golf Club 2005- 24.4 28.4 • Teams: • Boys U18 (team of 5 players) • Girls U18 (team of 3 players) • Trainings as part of the Academy + Futures team • Reconnaissance will be planned in March
The Futures Team • Advanced training for Juniors on invitational basis • Selection made by the club together with the pro’s, based on handicap (
