We Welcome Fr. Gerald
to OLG
Father Gerald Chigozie Osuagwu was born in Nigeria on the
23rd of March 1976, to the family of Sir & Lady Innocent
Osuagwu. He is the 6th child out of the 8th Children of his
parents and the only priest in his family.
He was ordained in Nigeria by his Local Bishop on the 23rd of August 2008, at his
home Parish, St Joseph Catholic Church, Umualumaku, Imo State, Nigeria. A er
his Ordina on, he had five years of Priestly ministry in his Diocese in Nigeria
before he moved to the United States in 2014.
Here in the United States, Fr Gerald was assigned to Sacred Heart Church as the
priest associate. He combined his priestly ministry with studies. In 2019, he
graduates with a master’s degree in Architecture. A er his gradua on, he
returned to Nigeria where he had another one year of priestly ministry before he
came back to con nue his ministry in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Our Lady of Grace Parish, Encino is Fr Gerald's second priestly ministry
assignment in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Bienvenida al
Padre Gerald a nuestra parroquia!
El Padre Gerald Chigozie Osuagwu nació en Nigeria el 23 de
marzo de 1976, en el entorno de la familia de Sir & Lady Innocent Osuagwu. Es el
6º hijo de los 8º Hijos de sus padres y el único sacerdote de su familia.
Fue ordenado en Nigeria por su obispo local el 23 de agosto de 2008, en su
parroquia natal, iglesia católica de San José, Umualumaku,estado de Imo, Nigeria.
Después de su Ordenación, tuvo cinco años de ministerio sacerdotal en su
Diócesis en Nigeria antes de mudarse a los Estados Unidos en 2014.
Aquí en los Estados Unidos, el P. Gerald fue asignado a la Iglesia del Sagrado
Corazón como sacerdote asociado. Combinó su ministerio sacerdotal con
estudios. En 2019, se gradúa con una maestría en Arquitectura. Después de su
graduación, regresó a Nigeria, donde tuvo otro año de ministerio sacerdotal
antes de regresar para con nuar su ministerio en la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles.
La Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Gracia, Encino es la segunda asignación de
ministerio sacerdotal del P. Gerald en la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles.
