Peninsula Group Thank You Greg Australia Day Award Included is a profile, of Greg, put together by our Historian Frank Hargreaves of which we are very appreciative that we can show Greg’s journey with UBC. Joined: June 1976 Greg joined the Club through the Government Aircraft Factories (GAF) Group in 1976. Greg served on the Group committee and as Group President. In 1983 he played a very important part in reorganising the Group and its activities. In 1987 the Group was renamed as the ASTA Group. ASTA standing for "Aero Space Technologies of Australia". Peninsula Group’s Meet some of the Long Serving Members 50th Anniversary Mr. Clem Kleinig • Clem joined the Club in August 1969, and has served on the Group Committee for all of its 50 years as Treasurer from 1972/73 to 1987/88 and Secretary/Treasurer from 1988/89 to 2018/19. • Clem was Vice President of the Gippsland Regional Zone from 1989/90 to 1993/94, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Zone from 1994/95 to 2016/17. • Clem was awarded Honorary Life Membership in 1977, and received the Meritorious Service Award in 1991. Dr Ian Woodcock— 2020 AGM Guest Speaker However, he decided to complete his General Paediatric training first in order to have a “more rounded and holistic” approach to the child. Ian and his family moved to Melbourne in January 2015 to take up a role as a Paediatric Neurology Fellow at the RCH and has been employed there since. Ian’s UK general paediatric qualifications have been recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and he became a Fellow of the RACP in February 2017. Ian completed his neurology training in 2018 and has been working as a consultant neurologist at the Royal Children’s hospital since February 2019. Research Interests Ian has extensive research interests within the field of paediatric neurology and in particular in Neuromuscular disorders.
