FA CUP 3RD QF ROUND TUESDAY 13 OCTOBER 2020 WIMBORNE TOWN FC VS MAIDSTONE UNITED - ONLINE PROGRAMME
From the Directors Box
Good evening and a warm welcome to Cuthbury to our visitors from Maid-
stone United. We extend our hospitality to the visiting officials. players,
staff and supporters and hope that you enjoy your time with us and have a
safe journey home.

Tonight, we play Maidstone United who are in the National League South which one level above us.
They are in fifth position in their league after they drew on Saturday against Havant and
Waterlooville. This is the furthest we have been in the F.A. Cup for 28 years, so with the great
supporters we have cheering us on let us see if we can progress further!

Last Tuesday we played Farnborough and with a good overall performance
the second half saw us secure 2 goals giving us a 2-1 win giving us a
well-earned 3 points.

Our man of the match was Aidan Shepherd who was our double goal scorer.
Well done Aidan!

So hopefully the boys can turn in a good performance again as they did for that game.

We did not have a game on Saturday so after a good break let us look forward to a good entertaining
game against this higher league side.

With a bigger crowd expected for this match please remember all the safety guidelines in place and
be extra cautious in keeping your distance and wear masks when moving around.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Steve Harvey ex-chairman of Hamworthy United F.C.
and a former board member here at Wimborne has sadly died.
We as a club extend our condolences to Steve’s family and all at Hamworthy United.

Hoping the weather is kind to us and we can all enjoy this evenings game.

The Stones repeated their championship victory for a second successive season when, yet again on
the last day of the campaign, they travelled to Walton Casuals and secured the Ryman League Division
One South title with a 2-1 win.

Following another promotion the club spent five years in the Ryman League Premier Division with
little in the way of playing success. An eight-year groundshare agreement with Sittingbourne ended
and for two seasons the Stones moved to The Homelands in Ashford.

The Chairman of 19 years, Paul Bowden-Brown, stepped down in October 2010 and with the club in
dire financial straits Oliver Ash and Terry Casey took over as joint chairman and owners. The 2010/11
season ended in disappointment as the Stones were relegated for the first time in their history to
Ryman League Division One South but off the field the exciting stadium plans were taking shape.

Construction work started during the 2011/12 season. Although the Stones missed out on the
play-offs at the end of that campaign, the £2.6million Gallagher Stadium was completed and 2,226
