Physical Activity, Accessibility and Mobility Issues Some of Ireland’s historic sites, such as abbeys, castles and ruins, may not be as accessible as modern attractions. Castles and towers may have a first floor that is accessible; however, they are less likely to have lifts. The itinerary includes long touring days with many full-day motor coach excursions (Ring of Kerry for example). You should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during city tours, museum visits, and/or outdoor activities. There will be walking over sometimes difficult terrain (e.g. cobblestones, city hills, stairs without handrails, absence of elevators); some longer walks to get to city centers where coaches are prohibited. Any disability requiring special attention should be reported to us at the time the reservation is made. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but we are not responsible in the event we are unable to do so. As our coaches are not equipped with ramps, all tour members must be able to mount 3 or 4 steps into the motorcoach. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to a tour member for walking, dining, getting on and off motorcoaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. Travelers who need such assistance must be accompanied by a qualified companion. At any time you wish not to continue or want to sit out an activity, you are certainly welcome to do so.
