Participant Development In 2013/14, Greenhouse captured participants’ development using two assessment methods. No data was collected for John F Kennedy School in 2013/14; the information below shows our impact across all our SEN programmes. 55 pupils were assessed using Teaching Assistant Questionnaires (TAQs) at the start and end of the year. The TAQ asked 11 questions about pupils’ holistic development, with each component scored from 0-10 (‘0’ = least possible agreement; ‘10’ = most possible agreement). 21 out of 55 showed progress in the TAQ 52 pupils were assessed using the Coach Development Tracker (CDT) at the start and end of the year. Coaches recorded milestones achieved in accordance with National Curriculum (NC) and P Level assessments (for pupils operating below NC Level 1). 21 out of 52 showed progress in the CDT Average Change in P and NC Levels from the CDT 5 There is a positive Average Progress 4 3 relationship between the 2 1 average hours attended per 0
Future Direction In 2014/15, Greenhouse Sports are launching a new, in-house developed coaching and impact evaluation toolkit that will enable us to develop and monitor the Social, Thinking, Emotional, and Physical (STEP) skills of our participants. The STEP framework focuses on the twelve skills that we want to boost in our SEN participants. This focus reflects the ultimate Greenhouse Sports goal: the development of well-rounded young people equipped with the skills required for happy and healthy lives, working towards independence wherever possible. In 2014/15, we will capture STEP progress for all participants using both our new questionnaires and case studies made up of dated assessments from a wide range of contributors. At Greenhouse Sports, we are committed to constantly improving our provision to ensure we maximise the benefits for our participants. To that end, in 2014/15, we will be assessing the quality of all our programmes using a Process Evaluation Tool (PET).
