Community Choral Project Open to men and women of all ages and abilities, this is a great opportunity to participate in your community, have some fun and learn something new. Feeding into the City’s biggest event the Joondalup Festival, the Community Choral Project is an opportunity for those who share a love of music to come together for seven weeks of rehearsal leading into four performances. The Choral project performance outcomes are changing in 2020. Participant feedback has shown a need for a theatre style presentation for friends and family to enjoy. Therefore, the first two performances will be held at St Stephen’s School Theatre, Duncraig, on Friday 27 March at 6.00pm and 8.00pm. The other two performances will be performed as a ‘flash mob’ at the Joondalup Festival during the day on Sunday 5 April at 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Please note: To participate in the Community Choral Project 2020 you must perform at all four performances. There will also be a chance for choir members to audition for a soloist position. This will be explained in more detail at the first rehearsal. Ideally, people submit video recordings this year. The Musical Director, Matt Reuben Ward will work with some guest vocal leaders to help up-skill beginner singers and advanced music readers. Who can be involved? The Community Choral Project is open to everyone, in particular those people who have always wanted to participate in a choir but never dared. No experience is necessary and there are no auditions for chorus. Register online from the City’s website until Monday 3 February 2020.
