IRISH DERBY 2020 PROVISIONAL GUEST ITINERARY
Welcome My name is Trisha Byrne and I am the Race & Stay guest manager for the Heritage Hotel for the duration of your stay. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our guests. I, and my friendly staff, are here to help you have the best time possible with us on your trip so please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything you need assistance with during your stay. Race & Stay staff are located each morning from 9am at our Guest Information Point at the Hotel Entrance and are always at every event we run and at the Curragh Racecourse to assist you. You are welcome to contact me at anytime on +353 87 220 1930 or by leaving a message at hotel reception. We will do our best to make sure your stay and trip is a memorable one. Each group or persons itinerary may vary slightly but the information contained in this guest brochure is intended to give details on all of the day’s and events, even though only some may apply to you directly. Your Individual booking confirmation contains the services and extras you have subscribed to and paid for in your package. You can add in any additional event by letting our Race & Stay staff know.
The Heritage Your Hotel The Heritage Resort is a 5* Guest destination located in the rolling countryside of the small townland of Killenard, just 5 miles west of Monasterevin which is deep in the “horse county” of Kildare. Travel Times By car, The Heritage is only 55 minutes from Dublin Airport and City, Less than 20 minutes from the Curragh Racecourse and less than 15 minutes from Kildare Shopping Village and The Irish National Stud. A host of other visitor attractions are within easy driving distance. The Setting The Heritage is a purpose-built lifestyle destination set in the only Seve Ballesteros designed championship Golf Course. A true countryside quiet and luxurious resort. The Rooms All guest bedrooms at the Heritage are excellently appointed and have all guest amenities you will need for your stay. The double beds are King Size and are super comfy. The Twin rooms all have two Queen beds and the Suites are very luxurious with individual balconies overlooking the Golf Course .
About Your Hotel Hotel Dining Breakfast is served in the Arlington Restaurant each morning from 7am - 10:15am Mon-Fri and 8am -11am on Saturday & Sunday. The A la Carte Dinner menu is available each evening from 6pm onwards and pre- booking is essential. Please dial 0 to book. Afternoon Tea The Lobby Lounge is open daily for Afternoon Tea. There are two sittings at 1pm & 3pm daily. Pre-booking is essential. Please dial 0 to book. Slieve Bloom Bar Open daily from 12 noon – 5pm for casual lunch. From 5pm - 9pm for A la Carte dinner. The well stocked bar has a wide selection of beers, wines, spirits and fabulous cocktails. Live music in the bar on Friday & Sunday evening from 9pm till late. Room Service Heritage Concierge and Room service is available 24/7 please dial 0 on your room phone for assistance. Spa Treatments Spa Treatments must be booked in advance and are available by dialling 0 on your room phone or by calling in to the Spa. Golf The Heritage Golf Club is a championship course designed by the legendary Sevé Ballesteros. You are welcome to book a round (Club, Cart and Buggy Hire are available) by calling in to the Pro Shop. Wi-Fi Free and available throughout the resort
Friday 26th June From Dublin Airport Our Complimentary airport shuttle departs from Dublin Airport Coach Park - Zone 16 to the Heritage at 12 noon. If you wish to travel outside of this time you are welcome to book a private transfer to the Heritage with us. When you arrive at The Heritage you will be welcomed with a cool towel and will enjoy a refreshing complimentary cocktail or beer. Friday 26th June Canape Reception Please join us for our welcome reception this evening from 7.30pm in the Gallery Room to meet your Race & Stay staff and other guests and find out more about what we have planned for this weekend. Enjoy a few canapes and light bites with a complimentary bottle of beer, glass of house wine or prosecco. After the reception pop in to the Slieve Bloom Bar where a bit of traditional Irish music and a beer or two will round off your night in style.
Saturday 27th June The Morning Line Please join us in the Heritage Ballroom from 10am for The Morning Line Guest Panel. A light-hearted but informative run through of Derby Day & Derby Sunday races in the company of our expert panel of Jockeys, Trainers and those "in the know" to mark your card. Enter our FREE and Fun Derby Champion Tipster Competition for your chance to take home some fab prizes. The Panel BRENDAN MCARDLE Well known RTE broadcaster and equestrian commentator who will host the show. FRAN BERRY First class jockey with over 1,200 race wins to his credit during his career. PAT SMULLEN Irish Champion Jockey 9 times with wins in both the Irish and English Derby on his CV. DARREN BUNYAN Curragh Trainer with group and listed wins to his credit, a master of training young horses. DARAGH FITZPATRICK Ireland’s leading on course bookmaker Daragh will provide the betting angle on the runners
Saturday 27th June The Heritage Mall Please join us in the Heritage Ballroom from 9.30am for The Heritage Mall. A pop-up market to glam up your day at the races We have great value Ladies Hats galore and great apparel accessories designed and made especially for us by Trish to suit all outfit styles and colours. Fabulous and unique Horseracing Jewellery in Gold, Platinum or Silver including Cufflinks, Bracelets, Necklaces, Pendants, Tie Pins and more and all at great prices for our guests. Racing apparel and fashion accessories to glam up your day. The Guest Pamper Zone FREE Last-Minute Guest Hair and Make Up Touch ups. For the Ladies: Let our style professionals tidy up that up style or create a fast-new look for you or help with any make up touch up, eyebrow shaping or those nail repairs you may need to shine in the glam stakes. Gents: Need a quick shoeshine - no problem let our guest elves make your footwear glow. All services are FREE for Platinum Guests.
Saturday 27th June Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Day Please join us in the Heritage Hotel Foyer at 11.45am where our Race & Stay Staff will provide your tickets and badges for the jewel in the crown of Irish Racing, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. A day when fashion, fun and entertainment intertwines with the international equine and racing elite. Transport Our transport departs from the Hotel at 12 noon After racing we depart the racecourse at 7pm Journey Time: Approx. 30 minutes each way. Dress Code Derby Day is THE day to dress up. If you have booked into Hospitality, we suggest dressing smart. If you have booked tickets, smart or casual is fine. Saturday 27th June Après Derby Gala Dinner and Show A wonderful end to Irish Derby Day Join us after the Derby Day Races at 8.30pm in The Heritage Ballroom for the weekend's social high point. You will enjoy a wonderful 4 course Gala Dinner followed by our Celtic Show, a celebration of traditional Irish music and Dance by some of Ireland's best- and well-known musicians and performers. After the show stay and dance till late with our fab house band providing the music until the early hours. Places are limited to 150 guests only so please book early. Dress Code Whatever suits you! If this event is not included in your package you are welcome to join us for an additional €95 per guest. Please ask a Race & Stay Staff Member for more information.
Sunday 28th June Irish National Stud Visit One of Irelands most Popular Visitor Attractions After a hearty breakfast please do join us on Sunday morning departing at 9am for our VIP Irish National Stud tour when one of the managers takes you on a tour of the iconic working stud where you will learn about one of Ireland's foremost working breeding operations. Meet Beef Or Salmon, Hardy Eustace, Hurricane Fly, Kicking King, and Rite Of Passage, the living equine legends, visit the horseracing museum and stroll around the Japanese gardens on our special trip before we return to the hotel departing at 11.30am. If this event is not included in your package you are welcome to join us for an additional €40 per guest. Please ask a Race & Stay Staff Member for more information.
Sunday 28th June Irish Derby Super Sunday Join us in the Heritage Hotel Foyer at 12.30pm where our Race & Stay Staff will provide your tickets and badges for the last day of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival. Derby Sunday is a fabulous race day with three group races taking centre stage in a quality seven race programme. Transport Our transport departs from the Hotel at 12.45pm. We depart from the Racecourse at 7pm Journey Time: Approx. 25 minutes each way. Dress Code If you have booked into Hospitality, we suggest dressing smart. If you have booked tickets, smart or casual is fine. Sunday 28th June Après Racing BBQ & Entertainment A great way to sign off on your Irish Derby Festival stay Join us after the races on Sunday evening for our closing delicious 3 course BBQ and social night with entertainment in the Slieve Bloom Bar. An informal way to enjoy some fabulous food and company to relax and reflect on your weekend of racing, fun and enjoyment. Dress Code Whatever suits you! Monday 29th June Time to say goodbye Thank you For being with us this weekend. We hope we have exceeded your expectations in every way.
