The University of Chicago and Chicago Booth Part of the world-renowned University of Chicago, Chicago Booth is the second-oldest business school in the United States and one of the most distinguished. Our pathbreaking research and our innovations in business education— including developing the first executive MBA program—have produced ideas and leaders that shape the world of business. Our unparalleled faculty is famous for producing theories that change business practice. The university is home to more than 80 Nobel laureates, seven of whom have been Booth faculty. The Chicago Approach to Business Education Grounded in a fundamentals-based understanding of how organizations function, markets work, and people make decisions, our approach to business education resonates beyond the classroom. It’s a distinct way of learning, analyzing, and behaving in the world. At Chicago Booth, we believe in data over dogma. You and your classmates will harness your experiences and the power of open, rigorous, and thoughtful inquiry to challenge assumptions and test and refine ideas. Scrutiny is about getting to better ideas—not the individual. The Chicago Approach becomes a signature of our alumni’s personal brand, giving them the ability to see connections that transcend accepted wisdom and empowering them to have greater and more enduring impact. 1
