WELCOME TO THE 2019 INAUGURAL NATIONAL RE-IMAGINING INDIGENOUS FUTURISM INDIGENOUS ECONOMIC RESEARCH FORUM As the CEO and founder of the Indigenomics Institute, I would like to welcome you and thank you for answering the call of ‘Who wants to Play Indigenomics?’ Indigenomics started as a hashtag and has grown into a movement. The Institute is driving the question - how can we collectively support the emerging 100 billion dollar national annual Indigenous economy? We welcome you as a participant and thank you for your leadership. It is time. Let’s have the courage to do this together! WE ACKNOWLEDGE that we are on the unceded territories of the Musqeam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nation ancestral territories. For that, we are grateful. UNCEDED UNCEDED

RE-IMAGINING INDIGENOUS FUTURISMS INDIGENOUS ECONOMIC RESEARCH FORUM The Inaugural Indigenomics Economic Research Forum will explore the reclaiming of modern Indigenous economic space and economic freedoms. Too much Indigenous economic research has focused on the ‘gaps’, ‘challenges’ or ‘what could be’ while taking on a deficit- based approach and offers no solutions towards positive change, growth or the design of the modern Indigenous economy. Indigenomics is modern Indigenous economic design. This forum will offer participants facilitated thinking towards inter-generational knowing and wisdom as futurism; applying Indigenous wisdom to explore Indigenous futures. This research forum will focus on the research dimensions of facilitating the national Indigenous economic frame of constructive, generative design towards the emerging 100 billion dollar Indigenous economy.
