International Women’s Day Cocktail Evening, Salisbury is gearing up for a wide spectrum of opportunities to get out and about. 9 May Within this edition of Discover Salisbury you will find information on upcoming events including ANZAC Day, a May the 4th celebration, 10 Keep Your Health a health expo and our Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week on Track programs for 2021. There are also details on a major fun run, Salisbury.RUN, which will 11 June be held at Carisbrooke Park on Sunday, May 2 with participants of all ages and abilities welcomed to put their best foot forward. 12 Salisbury.RUN Salisbury.RUN is a revamped version of the popular Salisbury Half 5.30AM DAWN SERVICE 13 July Marathon which not only offers the iconic half marathon distance of 21.1km, but options including 10km, 5km and 2km distances, with registration required through the organisers. 14 Discover Salisbury If you are looking to start training – or bike riding is more your thing – SALISBURY WAR MEMORIAL 15 Community some of Salisbury’s great trails are also listed in this edition. for budding mountain bike riders within the Salisbury Trails recreation park. There are purpose-built trails perfect for beginner and intermediate riders, with a couple of sections that will give even the most experienced of riders a thrill. The Kites and Kestrels adventure playground is also a fantastic place for a barbecue picnic. Gas BBQs are permitted on the grassy area near the playground (but not on days of total fire bans). This exciting playground includes a flying fox and climbing structures inspired by tree-top raptor nests. Cobbler Creek contains the largest remaining stand of the endangered mallee box grassy woodland on the Adelaide Plains, making it an important conservation area. This area also contains iron-grass species and a variety of native perennial grasses, including brush wire grass, kangaroo grass, spear grasses and wallaby grasses.
